Pros:1. Wireless - no wires or coils to get tangled up in. Ability to place flash units off-camera.2. Inexpensive compared to Canon's offering.3. Great attachment system is sturdy and versatile. Comes with lens adapter rings, unlike Canon's which must be purchased separately for each lens.4. Bright5. Able to cut brightness up to 1/64th.Cons:1. Despite advertised HSS support, it doesn't work on the 90D or the R5. This is the biggest disadvantage to me because 1/250 (the fastest supported shutter speed) is too slow for most pollinators and for fill flash on sunny days with deep shadows. Fully manual shooting helps, but can be difficult with fast moving subjects where subject distance changes quickly.2. Close up 1/64 power may still be too bright, causing colors to blow out (so often, I use only one light, rather than two).3. Slow cycle time.4. Eats batteries, particularly the AAA's for the flash units.5. Cap-style flash diffusers fall off easily. I have two units and have lost all four diffusers in the field. No place that I know of sells replacements.

This flash works great, it fits on my canon lens, and is easy to fit and remove. I think good value for money.

This kit would benefit from AA vs AAA sized batteries for better endurance of the flash heads, but weight consideration is probably why the designers have gone with AAA batteries. It's s a little flimsy once assembled; not as robust a unit when compared with the Canon Macro Ring Lite MR 14EX II. However, it is nice that the Mieke MK-MT24II has a logical and easy to set up wireless control unit for flash intensity settings via the hot shoe mounted controller. Worked first time, right out of the box. All components are stored in a well built case when not in use, Need to show care as this is a somewhat delicate unit. For its price point, is value for money, and would consider recommending this to another user who is aware of its shortcomings. Need to ensure to purchase the unit designed for your particular camera brand (ie, Canon, Sony, Nikon, etc).

This macro flash is a fraction of the cost of the Canon equivalent and has pretty much the same capabilities. The wireless flash units are actually an advantage over the Canon's wired units.

I was very impressed with how the flash operated. Took a few tries to get the settings correct. I use this flash set up for dental work and need predictability and standardization so my assistants can use the camera without needing to know a whole lot about manual settings. The images are sharp on my 100 mm Canon Macro 1:2.8 L IS USM. I took about 100 images and the reload time is less than 3-4 seconds. It did not fail to fire at all (like other third party Canon products). I am shooting portrait mode (F13 1/200 ISO 200) on the following GROUP settings: A (Manual) 1/1 105 mm B (Manual) 1/2 105 mm C (Manual) 1/4 105 mm using the lens mentioned earlier. These images are crisp and repeatable each time. VERY HAPPY I FOUND THIS COMPACT YET POWERFUL TWIN FLASH.

This is actually a great flash, easy to use, nice fill and brightness, but the fatal flaw for me was the recycle time. I tried using it for intraoral dental photography, and the recycle time was too long, and I couldn’t find a set a AAA batteries that could make it cycle fast enough for me...it would take 3-5 seconds before it were ready for another shot. If it could cycle as fast as the canon twin flash, this would have been a slam dunk, but instead I returned it.
