About this item

  • MAJOR UPGRADE FROM "STOCK" STARTER CYMBALS: these are not those distractingly cheap, flimsy prop cymbals that come with most drum sets; Meinl HCS cymbals have impressive sound and sturdy feel geared toward beginner/intermediate players
  • WHY IT MATTERS: playing HCS cymbals will sound more like what you hear in actual songs, making the drums even more fun to play; plus, they aren't going to fall apart, dent, or bend after a few uses like stock cymbals
  • WHAT'S IN THE BOX: includes one 12" splash cymbal; this splash has a bright tone and lighting-fast sustain for quick accents where larger crash cymbals would be too much; it's the perfect filler cymbal to play in unique spots during grooves or fills
  • DRIVING THE SOUND: made in Germany with MS63 brass alloy for a clean, bright, and crisp tone; substantial thickness with well-formed surface grooves and hammer marks give you a defined sound without clangy or ear-piercing overtones
  • CATCH UP QUICK: HCS exceeds expectations because Meinl brings experience crafting cymbals since 1951; we make HCS and other lines in our German factory, and our top-of-the-line professional Byzance cymbals are hand hammered in Turkey from cast B20 bronze
  • ZOOM IN: the surface shimmers and shines under light, which is a bonus if you like your kit to look beautiful; HCS cymbals also feature the same logo treatment as our professional lines, including a small laser engraved logo and serial number
  • OF NOTE: you can find any sound in the seemingly never-ending selection of cymbal types in the HCS line; all essentials in multiple sizes are covered along with effects cymbals that let you expand your sound with variety
  • THE BOTTOM LINE: this is a German made, top-quality entry level cymbal that resembles more high-end models with its crisp, bright tone and musical feel; it has a long lifespan, even for hard hitters, and fits any musical style

These brass alloy models sound and look great, and let you get into playing MEINL at very realistic prices. The HCS series from MEINL is designed to offer all of the cymbal types and sizes normally found in professional lines to beginners in order to deliver the same sound options a working drummer may look for. The Meinl HCS 12" splash delivers an immediate cutting and bright response that works as a great accent to round out your drum kit. Meinl HCS cymbals are recommended for any style of music a beginner may be getting into while exploring their sound.

For an entry-level symbol it’s good for practice not for recording. Beat it up at a gig.

MEINL Are the only cymbals I use. This has a nice crisp accent, but.... Mine cracked, not any fault to the company quality. I just play fast and hard. It lasted about 5 months, so I made a 12 inch trash out of it. It's worth the money for jazz, blues, and soft rock.

This is a bright splash cymbal with mild sustain. It cuts nicely and then drops off quickly like any good accent cymbal should. It seems well-made for the price. I needed a solid economical splash cymbal for recording and this one seems to fit the bill nicely.

I had originally bought the 8" cymbal and I didn't get the sound I was looking for. It's a cute little cymbal. but wanted more of the sound, so I got the 12" and it's great. It's not the greatest sound, but for the price I'm happy with it. And it's shiny haha. If you're looking to add some variety in your set, then this cymbal is great for the price.

I own a Tama Imperialstar five-piece set, which included Meinl HCS cymbals - a 14" hi-hat pair, a 16" crash and a 20" ride. I wanted to add a splash, so this fit the bill perfectly. The 12" splash has a slightly deeper, richer tone than the smaller versions. In my opinion, it's perfect for rock and metal, but it would also work well for those playing jazz. This is an inexpensive, yet high-quality cymbal. For any drummer looking for an affordable way to expand their kit, you can't go wrong with the Meinl HCS 12" splash.

In a live environment with the rest of the band.....this does the job very well. A little trashy, not a typical sounding splash. If you don't want to worry about how hard you hit your splash buy this one. Seems solid, sounds great and it's shiny!!!! Thanks Meinl!

I order the Meinl Cymbals the one I received is great. But in the description it said Meinl Cymbals with an "s" meaning more than one. I was working with short time so you would have thought they would send a set of cymbals not just one so now I have to order another one and hope it gets here in time. Please change and show price for two cymbals not one. Thanks upset Mom
