This has it all--not only an excellent foot-operated cabasa, but Meinl also included whatever hex keys and tools needed for adjustment (with slots on the pedal iteself so they don't get lost), and velcro on the bottom so it sticks to a rug. Highly recommended!

I purchased this from a online music store about 7 years ago. I was working pulling songs together on a conga set with a guitar player for duo in coffee shops and needed some more sound. The idea is awesome, the company solid so I bought it. I worked and worked and worked with it and could not use it. The mechanism is noisy and unpredictable. After some practice the chains would not turn against the rubber they use to cause that action on the turn wheel ... I adjusted it over and over and got nowhere. In the end it sits in box in storage and looks really really pretty when taken out and set in the floor.

This delivers a great sound with hand drums especially in an acoustic setting. Will need a mic for louder settings.

Very cool sound, would recommend heavier springs if you want the dual action sound though.

It does the job, loud and clear! Not particularly portable and no instructions as to how to change from single to double beats but this is a serious piece of useful kit.

This is such a great voice in percussion chorus. I really love the rhythm it brings to the all around sound. I play along with my cajon, shakers and sometimes acoustic guitar. Smooth and solid.

Its perfect to play on the side of my Cajon, sturdy construction, had to put some rubber feet in the bottom for stability.

There is one major problem with this device, which is that the foot pedal mechanism itself is really noisy, and about 30% of what you hear when using it is non-musical squeaking and clunking. Once you get past the sad fact that 30% of your efforts result in non-musical noise, you will notice it is difficult to use with any rhythm that involves more than stomping up and down in straight time - triplet patterns are tough, your shins may catch on fire. My solution to these problems was to use the included hex wrench to remove the cabasa from the pedal, and attach it to an old sawed-off screwdriver handle. Now I have a great sounding easy to use musical instrument. I'm saving the pedal to use for something that doesn't involve anybody's ears.

I'd say this is a must-have for cajón players. Top-quality cabasa. Quick and simple switch between single-/double-throw play. SX Stomp Box is a good addition too.

This is a good percussion option for drummers. It takes a bit of getting used to but it is great once you get the hang of it. I am glad I purchased it. You may need to mike it at a performance as it doesn't have a lot of volume plus it is coming from the floor rather than you hand as most Cabasas are played.
