I bought this unit for my mild performance rebuild of a 350, 4-bolt main motor from a '79 Z28. I bought this pickup at the same time I bought a new stock Melling oil pump. It all seems to be working well.

I wish they would tell you it needs to be pressed fit to attach to M55 oil pump why don't they sell them already know put together makes no sense

This pickup screen fits perfectly in the melling M55 pump, nice solid "tap" fit.

Does the job. it didnt fit tightly in the oil pump. I had to have it tack welded to make sure it was going to stay where I intended it to. other than that it was clean, and didnt have any welding or casting slag and junk that shouldnt be there. I'd buy it again and again.
