after disk are burned, you can see where the ink or dye runs together in spots, and makes the disk worthless....I have been using Sony and TDK now and no problems

The discs simply do not work. I have used them before with no problems, and I bought two of these packs, 100 discs total, and they were all bad. The technical support was a joke, who told me that since "you don't know what you're doing" they would send me to customer relations. I was on the phone with customer relations for just under a hour, talking to someone with the education level below 5th grade. The 'customer relations' person talked to me sarcastically, put me on hold three times for over 10 minutes each time, and kept repeating over and over what the problem was. Eventually he told to send in all the discs, proofs of purchases that simply did not exist, and all of these was at my own cost, since they would not reimburse shipping. The representative kept inferring that I would never take him up on his offer. I wonder if anyone ever has. After that absolute horrific experience that simply cannot be boiled down into a simply paragraph, I will absolutely never buy anything that says Memorex on it for my entire life.[...]

They seem fine for archiving purposes, but for video use they are not read by any of my DVD machines - 2 in house, 1 portable, 2 in cars. The only device that can read them are the PCs. I threw away 5-6 before I gave up and went and bought some cheaper ones that worked fine. Go figure.

I don't know what the other peoples problems were. I have only been using Memorex for the past 6 months, and I rarely, and I mean rarely, have one fail on me. If I do, it is usually because I am trying to do to much with my computer while burning. I have a NEC 3500 and a NEC 2500 and both burn the disks with NO PROBLEMS! Playback is great! If you have an older dvd player then you could experience problems with playback, but not on the newer players. I'm guessing that other people are having "user errors". That's the only thing that I can come up with.My advice, buy these disks.

This probably isn't the best DVD-R in the world, but I've yet to have any serious problems with them. I've burned movies, home videos, and other things on these discs. So far, they've been able to take anything I've thrown at them. I'm a collector, so if I want to add a DVD to my collection, I'll go out and buy it. But these make for pretty good burning if I want to preview a movie before I get it. I'm not saying that these other reviews aren't accurate, I'm just saying that I haven't had any of the issues/problems with this product that they are having. As far as the product is concerned, it's been smooth sailing for this consumer. I'd reccomend these DVD-Rs to anyone.
