Be prepared to get the full authentic experience with this. Just the brand brought back memories so I was excited to use this. Unfortunately, it seems that the recipe never changed. It sounds like a 1990 speaker. Obviously if you're playing old tapes they aren't going to sound like media today, but I found that all media we tried had that similar sound of my first Memorex in the late 80's/early 90's.After looking it up, I now see that these have been being made for years, and the price is not competitive.If you're looking for the full 1990 experience, you should enjoy this.

I absolutely love this portable stereo! The top loading CD player is convenient and the sound quality is excellent. The programmable memory feature is a great addition, allowing me to save my favorite tracks for easy access. The auto-stop cassette deck is a nice touch, making it easy to switch between CDs and cassettes without any hassle. The AM/FM radio works well and the reception is clear. Overall, I am very impressed with the quality and functionality of this stereo.

I've been wanting a CD player because I have all of this music and nowhere to play it. The red color is completely cool. It took me a minute to figure out the CD settings on the lower back. But once I did, I've been listening to music (loudly) ever since. Makes me feel young again. Although I've been playing it loud inside, no one has complained that they can hear it outside.

Got this for my children as they've expressed interest in listening to CDs more than streaming. I also thought my wife still had her cassette collection but that was a bust, so we have not tested out that part of this player.My son has gotten the most use out this so far. I've used it a couple of times and my daughter has used it a few times as well. The sound comes out really good for a portable device. My son usually uses his headphones so that he isn't annoying the rest of the house.My daughter has used it a few times to listen to the local rock station and it does a decent job on it. We haven't tried to connect any devices to it, so I can't speak to how well that works.For everything we've used it for, it works great. You can use C cell batteries to make this portable, or you can use the AC power cord. Overall it is a decent portable system and worth picking up.

If you are looking for a multimedia music machine - this is it. I have always had great success with Memorex products over the years. First, this has a decent sound quality - not the best, but good - needs more bass. But the real value of this machine is the top-loading CD player, AM/FM radio, and a cassette deck, which is a really nice feature for old audiophiles like myself. Its ready to go out of the box, just insert 6 D batteries (not included - boohoo) or plug it into an outlet and you are listening to music. The CD and the cassette player are easy to use with controls on top of the player. I don't like the on/off switch - it's hard to read with the red color on the back of the player. Also, the radio dial has both AM and FM station markings that are not exact the hard to finely tune in your station of choice. I wish the station number id would show up on the LED display that is used for identifying CD tracks. There is not Bluetooth capability, but there is an auxiliary input jack for playing out other devices. Overall, this is a decent "boombox", but it does how some limitations and flaws. But the CD and cassette player are very attractive features that you may seek.

As I stated in title: It’s small, no Bluetooth & no high watt speakers But the reason I gave it a 5 star rating is b/c it’s exactly what I wanted. I have a small bedroom & the size is perfect for my side table. I’m old school so I have about 250+ CD’s, a couple of dozens of cassettes & a dozen books on CD’s. I keep the radio on & fall asleep to music. I love this! It’s not for everyone but it suits me 100%. Be great in a garage, a shop, or a bedroom for sleepy time music.

I ordered this stereo because I have a number of cassette tapes that I wanted to enjoy again, plus the nostalgia of a 'boom box' seemed too good to pass up. The sound is what you'd expect from an inexpensive radio player. While the CD player and Radio work as expected, the tape deck does not. I tried to play a cassette that I've had for 40 years and was still in great shape with no issues, this ended very badly.The Stereo does not automatically stop rewinding / fast forwarding, so it continues to put heavy stress on the tape. So you have to be ready to stop it before it causes damage to the tape inside.This stress, coupled with the control arms not disengaging properly, caught the tape on a spool and tore the tape. Now my perfectly preserved cassette tape is no longer usable.I do not recommend getting this stereo if you're using a cassette with it, as it will likely damage your cassette if you're not incredibly careful with the operation of the unit.

I wish I could rate this higher. It’s the cassette player that I wanted and there are no problems here. Passable, clear and seamless playback of all my cassettes. This unit is not built to last though, so be mindful of purchasing for a rough and tumble work or play environment. Sitting on a shelf away from high activity in this things best bet for longevity, Top loading cd player and radio work as expected. I would rate the overall sound quality as below average but not horrible. A Luke warm pass. It will get used.
