These absolutely didn't work for me, but still 5/5 stars.I got these to line the inside of a tactical airsoft helmet, as the fit was a little sloppy. Both layers together, this is .875" thick. Figure that it's symmetrical on both sides, we're looking at 1.75" thickness added to the helmet.Seeing as I only needed like, .25" to snug up the fit, These obviously didn't work.THAT BEING SAID-The quality of these pads is amazing. While they didn't work for me, that's not their fault- it's mine for not paying attention to the measurements, and just figuring they'd work for me.YMMV, but please just realize that they are like, really thick. This is the second upgrade I've done to a very entry-level airsoft helmet that we have for our friends/guests who we take airsofting from time to time (the first upgrade was a proper chin strap). The more I upgrade it, however, the more I'm actually considering using it for myself. These foam pad inserts replace the hard grey styrofoam inner shell (similar to a bicycle helmet) that came with my helmet. The inner shell was held in place by hook and loop, AKA velcro, and was easily removed. The new pads don't fit perfectly in my helmet but I chalk that up to these not being made specifically for my helmet - in one area, the new pads cover up vent holes so it's very clear these weren't made for my specific helmet type. Also, you can see in the one photo that the rear pad doesn't fit in between the rear chin strap straps. In any case, they are good enough for who and what it's for.The green pads are pretty firm. They are meant to help absorb impacts to the helmet while the black pads are the "memory foam" type and are meant for comfort. Overall, they are comfortable, although I haven't worn the helmet for long periods to see if any hot spots develop. I'll be sure to report back if things change.
