This vest from Twenphyo is the nicest vest I've ever seen, and I've seen a bunch of these things. It's made of polyester lined with mesh for breathability. It has 7 pockets on the front, and some of those pockets have extra hidden pockets behind them. There's also a plastic loop on the very top of the left shoulder and right at the back of the neck, for clipping tools or for hanging. On the right breast, near the shoulder, there are 4 elastic loops for holding shells or other tools. On the left side, near the shoulder, there is a small square pocket with a velcro closure. On the left, near the v-neck of the vest, is a larger square pocket with a velcro closure. On the right, opposite this pocket, is a fancy square pocket with a velcro closure, with a hidden zippered pocket behind it. Inside the velcro part of this pocket, there's a sewn-in keyring clasp to keep your keys handy and safe. The zippered pocket behind it zips towards the center for easy access. There is also a velcro safety flap, just below the top of the main zipper, to keep the zipper from coming down in action. I've never seen this feature on this vest, but I really love it!On either side of the zipper, below the safety flap, there are two slash storage pockets with zippers that are oriented towards the center for easy access. These are not hand pockets, because they aren't near the sides, and the zippers point inwards, not away from the body. These pockets have velcro and plastic pulls for easy opening and closing.Below these pockets, near the waist, are two generously-sized fancy pockets with velcro closures in front, and zippered compartments behind. The one on the left is a single large pocket with a velcro closure and pleated front to make it roomier. Behind it is a large zippered pocket. On the left, there are two pockets with velcro closures that would be suitable for glasses, goggles, or shells; behind this is another hidden zippered pocket. The zippers on both of these waist-level pockets are oriented towards the center for easy access. The vest also has a lot going on in the back! This is where the design gets really ingenious. It took me a few minutes to figure it out. The very top of the back has a plastic loop in the center of the neck, for tools or for storage. The panel across the back of the shoulders is quilted for strength and comfort. Below this panel, there is a zipper. The polyester panel narrows here to expose the mesh near the armpits for breathability. There is a zippered pocket near the top of this polyester panel, and two velcro closures at the sides. At the bottom of this panel, there is another long zipper. If you unzip the top of the polyester panel, undo the velcro on either side, and carefully roll the polyester panel up, you can store this panel in the zippered pocket at at the waist; it's like the zippered pocket for a hood. This way, you can expose all the mesh at the back, for breathability and comfort. And did I mention the price?!? This is an incredibly cheap price for such a quality vest. It's got a relaxed fit, but is true to size, which is nice, because nobody likes a tight vest. It will need some personalization, such as reflective tape, but you don't need these things for a fishing vest. The lack of tape just makes the vest more versatile in purpose. It's a handsome, quality, versatile vest! A++ would buy again.

As a photographer there are always accessories that I carry, things like extra batteries, adapters, lens caps, etc. While this vest can have many uses, which is what the word versatile means, it is ideal for photographers, and you don’t have to be a pro to buy it, anyone who is an avid snapshot taker can benefit from the many pockets, large and small.WHAT YOU GETThe vest is mostly manmade materials and unlike similar vest I’ve own that were all cotton and got softer over time so they fit like a glove this one is a bit stiff and plastics never get soft over time. The sole contents are the vest itself.IS FIT IMPORTANTPersonally I felt their sizing chart to be less than helpful. This is not a shirt or sweater, it is worn like a vest and probably most people will never button it. So it has to be big enough to hang properly on your shoulders and not too tight in the abdomen but too loose isn’t good either, I don’t want to be constantly fighting with my vest (which is now loaded with a lot of accessories) if it has a tendency to want to fall off. So I guessed and ordered a size that I thought would fit plus a little extra because most guys wouldn’t wear the vest by itself, so it has to be comfortable with a shirt or even a sweater underneath.WHAT THEY DID RIGHT – ALMOSTInside was a full page printer letter to the recipient of this vest. It carefully explained in detail how they determine what size to put on the label, including a description of how and why there is an inherent size difference between Chinese and American customers. In summary their products are labeled the way Americans are familiar with, for example if you wear a large that’s what you should order, no need for any conversion tables. And in fact what I ordered was perfect for me. What is unfortunate is that you don’t get to see this letter until after you buy and receive the item. I suggest they consider taking that same information and including it in their product listing so the buyer knows how to order while they are making the decision what will fit them. I didn’t take anything away from my final score on this vest because I like it but I think they should consider my suggestion.YES NO MAYBEI have paid more for similar vests and that was several years ago so considering inflation I think this is very reasonable at thirty bucks. If it goes up a lot I may not feel the same way. It is well made and what I would call rugged, and that’s important whether you use it for photography, fishing, working on the car or whatever. I like it.
