Glad I purchased! I considered using a screw driver, but this tool has a better snug fit and makes it very easy to loosen the plastic castle style top on the fuel filter.

Fits an Opti fuel filter perfectly. I used to use a screwdriver but this tool really makes it a lot easier to change the filter.Solid aluminum so there’s not a lot that can go wrong with it.

Does exactly what is was designed to do. Get the fuel filter off an optimax without tearing the filter up. You supply the ratchet wrench, it does the rest.

I purchased this tool so I could change out the fuel filter myself on the Mercury 4.5l MPI in my Crownline boat.The tool fits perfectly into the top of the filter housing. Pop a 3/8" ratchet into the center, turn, and bam! Filter comes right out.I'm glad I changed the fuel filter at 100 hours, because it looked dirty. While the tool is a one trick pony, it was affordable enough and made the job easier.

This tool is an absolute must for changing the goofy fuel filter on my 115 hp Mercury. The filter has many ears and even if you manage to get it out you won't be able to seat the new one without a lot of luck, brute strength, and ignorance.Check youtube for videos on how to change it and how to clean out the fuel system area. You may be surprised at the gunk in the little fuel filter and pump areas. It is an easy thing to do.

You really need this tool if changing a fuel filter. I had a home made one but this is much better.
