The base housing has a boss with an O ring on bottom, the boss was way larger than it should be to fit my 50 hp mercury.I had to use my old lower housing to start , then I used the remaining new parts , it seemed to go together ok but now my week point it the used lower water pump housing as it has two seal points in it . Time was a factor as I had a planed fishing event , now I will have to go to my local mercury dealership and buy a complete kit that will fit . And redo the water pump rebuild soon . So in the end I made my event but not really happy with the fact it all did not fit properly.
