These leggings are much thicker and warmer than the more high end name brands. Not itchy, wool hasn't showed any signs of fuzzing off or deterioration after multiple washes, (unlike Smartwool products). People need to give these a try.

Seems to be nicely made and fits well. A good weight as a base layer for active pursuits. Probably not enough for the coldest weather, fine for everything else. Comfortable.

I've been impressed at the value Merino Protect offers. I've purchased several of their shirts, both long & short sleeves. Their socks have rapidly become some of my favorites. So, I decided to give the 100% Merino Wool thermal base layer long underwear a try.I plan to use these under my waders when fly fishing, but they could be used under jeans or other pants as well. The weight is perfect, but seem lighter than my Smartwool 250g garments. From my experience the wool material gets a bit fluffier after a few washings. I purchased a large as suggested by Amazon, but think I would prefer a tighter fit for my long underwear. At 170lbs / 5'10", I think I would consider downsizing to a medium. At the end of the day, my Merino Protect shirts, long underwear, and shoes are so comfortable, I hate to take them off. I follow the recommendations for washing & drying and have purchased enough that I only need to launder them every 10 days or so. The wool allows for each garment to be worn 2-3 times before needing to be washed. The price is as good as I have been able to find for quality Merino Wool.

I ordered an XL because I have a 35" inseam AND waist and L usually runs a bit short: the XL fit really well. The base of the leg has double thickness for about 4 inches and extends down to the top of my foot. I like the waistband, which is wider than my polypro long underwear from various makers. The XL waist would not be baggy for a 34" waist and might fit a 32" waist if the person has longer legs (I don't know how long the L is but assume it's shorter). It's winter so I wore these around the (cool) house, out of the box, for a day to get a feel for the fit. I find them about the same heft as expedition polypro so not too thick and just right for winter outdoor activities. What really impressed me was that they don't itch like some of my other woolies. I plan to take these when I backpack during shoulder seasons because they're lightweight and WOOL. Probably will get another pair and start retiring my old polypro...

i got these with the upcoming cold weather of the northeast coming soon. These fit pretty well and are nice and warm without being too thick or bulky to wear underneath pants. I particularly like the waistband as it's wide and there's no annoying tag in the back (just printed lettering). I'm ready for the winter!

I think this Merino Protect Base Layer compares favorably with similar products from SmartWool and Meriwool. A Merino wool base layer like this is great for cool/cold days. The day after these leggings arrived, the temperature was predicted to drop by quite a bit. They are form-fitting, so I put them on under my cords: I was comfortable all day at work. I also liked the environment-friendly packaging. Recommended.
