Merino Wool Boot Socks Thermal Winter Warm Thick Cozy Hiking Socks for Men Women 3 Pairs

I help coach students and we practice early in the mornings - my feet are always SO cold by the end of practice. I was looking for socks that would have neutral colors so the black, gray and white worked perfectly. I had been recommended to get wool thermal socks for optimal warmth and these did not disappoint. They are a bit heavier in terms of weight. They fit as described (the top portion is definitely thicker). They look like you are wearing thick, warm socks (the thickness definitely makes it harder for layering unless you plan to wear them over leggings or pants). I'd say they are a good value for what you get.

According to my wife these are very warm and light.Good cushioning for work/hiking shoes.Wash in washing machine. No problem. Color holds up well.Very good value for the money

Well, after 4+ months of researching, perusing options, awaiting orders, evaluating by trial and error, and unfortunately... flushing lots of money down the drain, I believe I can FINALLY lay claim to a having found a wool content sock that actually suits my needs! ALLELUIA!!Due to diabetes and reduced circulation, my feet were now so cold that my feet hurt and at times dusky blue in color. I temporarily borrowed a pair of my hubby's thick elastic terry socks which were a help, however I surmised WOOL was what I really needed, thus the search was on. After several purchases and MUCH trial and error, I discovered that the wool DID INDEED help provide the extra temperature needed to warm and soothe my achy toes/feet. However past experience also showed extremes where some of them lacked enough elastin to keep them on my feet throughout the day and/or sleeping process -WHILE- some were so tight about the ankle that they pressed deeply into my skin, hindering circulation, and causing discomfort. A very frustrating situation, indeed!I was sooooo fortunate to have discovered these MERINO WOOL BOOT SOCKS THERMAL WINTER WARM THICK COZY HIKING SOCKS on AMAZON. The photo depiction showed that they might be a bit "slouchy" about the ankle, so I was somewhat wary of them possibly sliding about the foot and/or falling off during sleep, but I am glad I read all of the reviews and took a chance on them. I purchased the "purple toned" package of three pairs. They arrived in a nice sturdy box, and upon unboxing, it first appeared as though they were "used" due to the abundance of soft "hairs" observed on the socks, However, upon closer examination, though, it became obvious that the "hairs" were actually the Merino wool content (silly me). I did notice that one of the lavender socks did indeed display an obvious 1/4"+ hole about the ankle stitching. (The remainder of the socks appeared perfect and I eventually made an exchange of the one with a hole.) I then tried on a pair on to see how they felt. They were nice and THICK with a good amount of stretch and were very easy to get onto my foot. THINGS LOOKED PROMISING! Within minutes I noticed a distinct warmth about my foot. The socks have a built in elastic band about the arch area that helps secure it to the foot. The toe seam is inconsequential (and I am usually very sensitive to this issue). These socks do not bother my toes at all. The ankles have the perfect amount of "give" so as NOT to be too tight; yet they have just enough elastin to stay up; NO painful "digging in" and impeding circulation. I have worn these socks with slippers when stepping outside, however due to diabetic neuropathy of both feet, I usually walk about the house without slippers to make me feel more "sure-footed" (so I won't slip and fall). I find I can walk around the house in these socks without having them "migrate" about the foot. (I even comfortably wore 2 pair in our house during a 3 day power outage. Indoor temp was 41 and I survived!) Also amazing is the fact that I can sleep in them without them working their way off of my feet (and I'm kind of a restless sleeper). I was so pleased with these socks that I bought another 3 pair set in black. I just laundered them in our front load washer/dryer. I placed six pairs (right side out) inside of a zipped laundry bag; liquid detergent/norm cycle/mild warm water; machine dried them in the same bag; low heat. They held up pretty well with only mild pilling on the feet - and still feel soft, cozy, and amazing!I'm so glad I was persistent in my search to find just the right wool socks to address my various needs and concerns. These socks are TERRIFIC in every way. I bet I'll be buying more...

I love these boot socks, not only are they very warm they are so soft! Perfect height for wearing with my Sorel "Joan" boots. They keep their shape perfect and do not sag or stretch out with wear. They stretch great for pulling up over leggings or pants. I will definitely buy them again.

Warm and snuggly. They have a good stretch on the legs. I waited until my feet got cold and put them on. I was warm and toasty in like 2-3 minutes. I was also afraid of the Marino wool being scratchy, not in the least.

Thick, soft and warm without making my feet sweat! Great price as well! Will be buying more!

It is a warm sock but it pills easily. My son was walking around the house with them, the black socks, and he showed me how they already pilled. They were not washed. They do look very soft, thick and are stretchy.

I ordered a few different “thick winter socks.” Apparently “thick wool” is subjective. 👀 These socks are thick for boots but not padding thick so they bunch in your boots. Ok?. Soft. Well made. Warm but not over-heating. No toe seams. Wash well- slight fuzz, no biggie. Hold their soft thickness and shape. I ordered a lot more. Great winter socks!!
