Purchased this tool based on high marks from the major Woodworking publications and it hasn't disappointed. I won't do a full pro/con as I don't have anything negative to say about the product. I used to for a full board and batten project and it performed perfectly on all sizes of wood trim and angles. Easy to adjust depth with plenty of power. Battery life was very good too.I have had problems with Metabo HPT's customer service, so I feel compelled to share that as part of the review in the event someone is looking to get into their line. I purchased many of their tools based on how impressed I was and still am with the brad nailer. However, based on multiple poor experiences with their customer support, I have returned several unused tools I had purchased to start a project. I wanted to go all Team Green and have one battery platform, but it's not worth the frustration for me. Overall, great brad nailer and I would recommend it despite my issues with their service. The other products weren't strong enough in my opinion so I'll go to more than one battery platform for other tools.

I am in love with this tool. I have very small hands and couldn’t handle the ryobi nailer I originally bought. Found this one after some research and it’s perfect! Lightweight, easy to hold, long battery life! I’m so glad metabo makes tools that small women can actually use!

Works great! Battery is awesome. Speed of nailing is fast. Not to heavy and balanced well. Not loud. Turning on and off is a bit of a pain, button could be bigger. Would certainly recommend!!! Just hit the "buy now" button already!!!

I like the eighteen gauge because it's not as invasive of a hole. I do wood floors everyday and I use this tool. Everyday battery life is decent. No jams works well penetrates all different, soft and hard woods effectively.

Works great, the impact hole is not as neat as the Makita brad nailer however it is consistent in sinking every brad below the surface. Glad I purchased it.

Metabo makes a good product. I have several other Metabo cordless tools. This brad nailer works great, it's lightweight and has all the power I need from a nailer. The battery life is very good, the gun has a nice design to it and is very easy to use. Good value for you money too.

Easy to handle, easy to load, works consistently straight from the box. Battery life is long—in fact I've not yet put it on the charger after four clips of 2-inch brads, casing nine windows. That's 1-inch pine pinned to studs, plus the pine trim over half-inch drywall and into studs.I have had to hammer-set about 15 percent of the nail heads, and I wish the depth selector wheel had a bit more friction. But these are quibbles. This is the first brad nailer I've owned so I can't compare it to DeWalt or others. But there's no comparing it to hammering and hand-setting brads. If you've got more than a few doors or windows to box out you need this thing.

This worked great for a little over a year, but either the battery or charger has malfunctioned and the battery won't charge. No worries, both items advertised a 3-year warranty. Filed a claim at the beginning of July, sent paperwork, checked back a week later because they didn't acknowledge receipt, and they said it takes 2-4 weeks for them to do the paperwork. Waited 6 weeks and checked back in, that was over a week ago and I haven't received any response. If I owned a bunch of Metabo it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I'm heavily invested in Dewalt and bought this because it was reviewed so highly in Fine Homebuilding. I should have stuck with what I know.

This is just a first impressions review. I can come back later after more use on field.I am a full-time carpenter that has used dewalt cordless, Milwaukee as well as ryobi. I have never owned these but my old bosses and coworkers did. When doing a lot of reading/research I decided I wanted to try these metabo ones out even though I've never seen them on the field. My first impression of the 18 gauge couldn't be better really. It is the lightest weight nailer (by far) and it packs the same punch as the Milwaukee with near instant response time. I used dewalts and Milwaukees quite a bit. I would never personally by the dewalts for myself and I run all dewalt cordless tools. I would go for the Milwaukee but the price point is a bit much. I got this kit on sale for $200 and I would pay the full $270 price all day for it. Even at full price it is cheaper than just a bare tool Milwaukee. This allowed me to get everything I needed to operate while not being on the metabo platform. This gun shoots quick and hard. It'll sink whatever you need to sink. The only time I saw nails heads ever so slightly proud was rapidly bump firing which isn't how the gun is used realistically anyways.Besides it's satisfying ability to shoot nails I think what i like the most is actually how small light it is. This 2nd Gen version was apparently cut down in size by 30% and is easily the smallest gun I've used. A lot of finish work is above your head (crown, casing) and using it doesn't wear you out like others do. It also has a very bright LED which is quite nice. The only gripe I have right now is that the battery itself doesn't have a battery life indicator on it and the guns indicator is only 2 lights which is fairly useless. My mind could change but as of right now for the 18 gauge I prefer this over all the others and its what I'd buy again.
