I really did want to like this, but it's just ok. After 30 years of bending down over boxes, maybe that's just what I'm used to, because I still find myself bending down to scoop, I just stand a little further away. And for as long as the scoop is (though it doesn't have to be, you can take half the handle off), I feel like the scoop itself should be so much bigger. I start out using this scoop, but it takes so long and I'm crouching down over the box anyway, that I just get frustrated and I end up grabbing one of my cheap scoops that has a short handle but a much larger shovel. Maybe if you don't have nine cats and don't have to spend nearly as much time as I do scooping boxes it could work for you, but for me it's a bust. It's metal, so it's definitely very sturdy, and as I mentioned, you can take half the handle off to make it shorter if you want, I just feel like such a long scoop should get the job done faster but it actually takes much longer. I also would've thought it would've been easier to clean, but when I get some of those not quite clumped clumps on there, it seems much harder to get the yucky litter off of this one than my plastic scoops. If you're trying to get away from plastic like a lot of people are these days, and you don't have an excessive collection of cats, this scoop will probably work well for you. Unfortunately, it's not the right one for me at this time. I'll hold on to it and see if I warm up to it some day when I have fewer cats, but for now it's back to the plastic.

Good quality. Have two cats with big cat litter bins. Easy to clean. Gravest reach so I don’t have to bend over. Easy and comfortable functionality. Over all good value.

As a house hold with multiple disabled adults, bending over to scoop multiple cat boxes can get quite taxing. We have four cats so five boxes to keep up with. This long handled litter scooper saves our backs for sure! It's sturdy, nothing sticks because it's stainless steel, and good quality. It's just the right length to allow you to sit in a chair beside the box and do your scooping without too much bending over. You can also shorten the scoop for when your feeling spry. For the price & how durable the scoop is, you really can't beat having this around. The plastic scoops break so easily & you won't have an issue with that here.Highly recommend.

My LYCC Metal Cat Litter Scoop arrived today. I couldn't be more pleased with it. Whomever designed it must have cats. Much thought went into this product. It's a weighty, solid, long handled scooper that is going to save my back! The 2 pieces screw in easily. The handle has a nice foam(?) Grip. Just the right height to avoid having to bend down very much. The shovel portion of the scoop has bars close together but not so close that the clean litter can't run out and keep all the soiled litter on the scooper. With 4 cats, & 7 litterboxes on 3 floors I wish I had ordered more. Great product, great idea.

This is a lot better than using the little handheld scoopers out there. My wife prefers the short, handled ones because she says she can handle them easier, but I don't want to be that close to the poop. They sift and scoop the cat poop just as expected. I really like the extended handle. The entire handle is composed of two pieces. You can remove just the extension and use it like a normal short, handled scooper. It has a grip on the stand-alone short handle and another on the extension. The extension screws on and basically doubles the length. It's built a lot more solid than I expected. I thought it would be kind of flimsy, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I love my kitties, but I sure don't love having to get up close and personal with their leavings every other day. Especially now, after two back surgeries, I have to be careful about bending over, and it can be quite uncomfortable to do so. Now with this telescoping litter scoop, I can take care of the cats' business with relative ease. I like the fact that the scoop is metal instead of plastic; it should last a good long while and won't hold onto odors. The telescoping handle is adjustable and stays put once you've tightened it. This item is a winner in my book!

I ordered these not for a feline friend, but to sift ashes in the wood stove so that I can clean out the ashes and leave the hot coals behind to continue the fire. The stainless handle of the scoop is two pieces that thread firmly together and there is a rubber grip even on the shorter length alone, that, in my case works nicely to allow me to use it with a smallish wood stove. The spacing on the strainer portion is fairly close, which is ok for fire ashes and cat litter. It's a very sturdy, well-made scoop, to be sure, and will offer years of service. For kitty owners, I think this is worlds above the usual plastic scoops. If I had any criticism at all, it would have to do with the profile of the scoop. It has a rounded, curved profile, differing from other scoops which have a wedge-shaped profile. This means that the lip of the scoop has an upward bias that means you need to lift the handle upwards and push forward to keep it in scooping mode. In a litter box, this wouldn't be much of an issue, I think, but in the wood stove it does make scooping up the coals a little bit impeded-- not unworkable, but not perfect, either. Overall, serviceable for this use with this caveat in mind.

This is so much better than the scoop it’s replacing. My old scoop’s handle was right behind the scoop and I was constantly touching dirty litter or the sides of the box while scooping..gross. The extra length on this put an end to that and I don’t have to hunch over as much to use it. The slots are big enough to let the clean litter fall through while collecting all the clumps. The extension that threads on is great for anyone who has trouble bending down. It’s well made and should last a long time!
