When I started in photography, all of my gear was set up for Alien Bees flash heads. Now, years later, I've slowly converted much of it over to the bowens mount. This speed ring was a perfect fit for one of my westcott strip soft boxes. My one head scratcher is the locating nut. I've always seen it on the outside of the speedring so that it is easily accessible, here it is mounted on the inside. Not sure if this is to accommodate clearance issues with certain flashes or not, and it's not going to impact performance much, but it was something that gave me pause.

For the price it's good enough. Does feel like "high end" pewter if you know what I mean. If it was more expensive id give it a 4/5, but for the price its fair

Picked this up to convert a generic no-name soft box that has some type of proprietary (being generous there) mount that isn't Bowens compatible.This adapter allowed us to adapt the generic soft boxes to our Bowens lamps with only minor adjustments, and at $10 (at review time) you really can't beat the cost.

I lost one of my bowens mount adapters and was able to easily replace it with this one. Works amazing and fit my softbox perfectly

This generic, all-aluminum speed ring works great for mounting soft boxes on Bowens-mount lights although I did have to make a small modification to improve its convenience.The 360° rotation feature built into the speed ring allows you to rotate your soft box to the optimum position. Unfortunately, they put the tightening/loosening knob on the outside of the ring which means in ends up on the inside of the soft box once you have it mounted.To remedy this, I bought a longer 5mm bolt, la lock washer, and a large fender washer so that I could move the tightening screw from the outside of the speed ring to the inside. It works great (no drilling needed) and I can now see and use the rotation feature's tightening knob

As the headline states: Works With Plume Sofboxes And No Name 62" SoftboxOver the years I've acquired a number of light modifiers. From Plume Sofboxes at assorted sizes to a no name octagonal 62" softbox to a Paul Buff 30"x60" softbox. This Ring Adapter fits them all. The Plume is a little tight but does fit with some elbow grease.Price is excellent for both the ring and insert.
