I think of steel chains as purely functional items, usually serving some industrial purpose. And even those chains that get to drive through the snow or get used to hang a children's swing, still are out in brutal weather and subjected to all kinds of abuse. So there is little reason to make them so perfect. So I was rather shocked to see just how nice these chains are. And what I mean by 'nice' is that they were artfully crafted and seemingly flawless. I am using the chain to hang in my large boiler room as a sort of closet that will keep my clothes toasty during the winter, as opposed to my actual bedroom closet where clothes tend to get cold and musty.By the way, chains work great for hanging clothes hangers; better than rope where all the clothes tend to slide in a clump to the middle.I am actually using this chain to upgrade my existing chain which has open links. Instead of welding the ends of the chain links closed, the ends were simply crimped inward. So, it is nowhere nearly as strong as this new, replacement chain. This replacement is very strong even though they say the weight limit for this size chain is 66 lbs. Maybe they need to say that for insurance, but this chain can probably easily hold many times that weight. Still, I wouldn't want to be a 250 lb. man swinging on that swing when the chain suddenly decides it has reached its limit. But here is where I am super impressed. Not only have all the link ends been welded closed, but they have also been filed off and polished perfectly smooth so that I cannot even see or feel where the ends were. I understand that if your child is going to be holding onto a chain on a swing with both hands, then you're going to want that chain to be smooth and free of rough spots. But to me, it seems that this chain goes way above and beyond, and resembles more of an underappreciated art form than simply a strong apparatus used to hold lots of weight. Not like the chains on the playground where I grew up.

Got this because when I go camping, I wanted something that I can hang cast iron pots & pans from as well as a makeshift clothesline. It pretty much does it all and because it's a chain you don't have to worry that the stuff you're hanging will slide to the middle of the line. Plenty strong for the biggest dog and I'm sure it could support a lot of weight. The 304 stainless steel means it will be resistant to rust and it's easy to loop around a tree for hanging stuff. Keep in mind that this is steel and not lightweight but if you're just pulling this out of the trunk of your car it's a great idea. I would not recommend carrying this on an extended hiking trip, it's just too heavy. I do wish it was just 2 feet longer but overall, this was a good purchase.

The chain looks awesome, and the quality is solid too. It's well-welded and nicely finished. Since it's stainless steel, it's heavier than regular steel and a bit softer (that's just how stainless steel is). This chain is really about keeping your stuff safe from the elements, not necessarily making it super secure, but ensuring it lasts outdoors. It's not ideal for carrying around with your bike because it's heavy and not the most secure. But if you're after a durable, good-looking chain for a project or to secure things outside, this one’s a great choice!

I have two large dogs that unfortnately pull hard on their leashes in the backyard and required chains while they are outside due to previous breakage of leashes. I was looking for something durable but not super heavy which worked out well with these so far. They are still able to walk around, have fun playing and I do not have to worry about the leash breaking. No rust or concerns for breakage so far. Overall would recommend.
