Hydrodrive Hydraulic Steering Systems are manufactured using technology from aviation industry
- The pump house is a hardened, hot-pressed aluminium base material, not die-cast aluminium or moulded plastic.
- The thickness of 8 mm and the special material from the aircraft industry prevent leakage or oil film/fog formation even under very high pressure.
- The 3 ball bearings in the pump ensure the outstanding precision and exceptionally smooth, consistent functioning.
- Each pump house is anodized and due to the surface treatment is resistant to the highly corrosive effects of sea.
- Pump shaft is standard 3/4”
- The cylinders are also made by cold drawn, hardened aluminum (also used in the aircraft industry).
- The thick walled cylinder is made of a special raw material with even higher tensile strength than the traditional bronze therefore tolerates high working pressure.

Changed a center console boat from rack and pinion to this hydraulic unit. If you have mechanical ability the install isn't bad. Had to make a couple mods for my application but no different than any other boat project.The machine work on this unit is beautiful, being a machinist for 40 years I appreciate quality work.The steering system works well, not as silky smooth as my other boat but at a third of the price of the dometic brand. I am happy with it.I run a charter service and spend a lot of time aboard boats, nice product at a fair price .Oh and it uses #46 hydraulic oil.

A bit of a Bish to install. Bleeding was nothing like the instructions!! Needed wife help. She was angry for hours after the install!!

My boat is a 1985 Go Fast Boat we had to do some work but got it done, think on newer boat it would have been easier

Both the cylinder and helm appear to be extremely nicely made. Adding a couple of right angles for the stern connections would be a plus as routing the lines to avoid kinks was just a bit tricky but the additional length of the tubing proved to be extremely useful. If splitting the hoses, probably use a razor blade as I damaged the outside coating but not a huge issue. All in all, I think this is a fantastic alternative to the SeeStar, high-priced offering. My shop was impressed with the quality of the components. Steering on my 175 HP/ 91 'Centurion Barefoot Warrior is effortless and a huge improvement to the bound-up cable steering. Warranty is good, shipping was extremely fast, and I fully recommend.

Worth the money but installing was a challenge for us, our dash is 3" thick and our old system was seized up. Not to mention the funnel it came with was way too small I think. So we taped a larger one on and worked perfectly. Our boat is 26 years old so I wasn't assuming it to be a fast process either. Works like a charm though! Just some feedback for the company , please make new instructions the ones on the website are not very helpful.

It arrived exceptionally fast. Was very quick and easy to install. Components are high grade. Was installed in a 20 ft Ranger Bass Boat w/ 150 hp Merc outboard.
