Excellent grinder. Well worth the price

Overall, I believe this grinder yields satisfactory results intermittently, but the inconsistent performance has led me to question its value at a price point of $99 plus tax. Despite efforts to find an optimal grind size for pour-over coffee, we have yet to achieve a decent pour. Furthermore, adjusting the grind size can be perplexing, and I have observed that coarser grinds tend to be increasingly irregular. I find the usability of this grinder to be a costly learning experience, making it unsuitable for beginners. We continue to seek a superior alternative grinder that can accommodate our future needs for making lattes with reduced grind inconsistencies in the final product. While this grinder may meet the needs of others, its grind quality falls short of my specific requirements, and unfortunately, the return and product support windows have expired. I regret not returning it sooner.

This is my first hand-crank coffee grinder. I grinds smoothly and easily, yielding a superior cup of coffee compared to my 20 year old electric grinder that is probably clapped out.It has enough bells and whistles to satisfy that need and they are all functional.I bought it based on the first look review by Coffee Geek. The product matched my expectations based on that review.

The grinder was very easy to use. I had no trouble grinding espresso in less than a minute. And larger grinds were even faster. It took a little bit to figure out the grind settings but the company sent an email that clarified their system. Definitely a great value.

This grinder is the second manual grinder I've owned - the other being a Hario Slim Plus. The Blade R3 is a good step up. The grinds are more consistent, has a wider range, and just feels better. The grinder is easy to clean after use with a little air and the included cleaning brush. I don't really use the sieve because I already have the larger MHW-3Bomber sifter, but it is a nice addition for smaller doses. If you have a particularly oily batch of beans, the sieves will just clog. This is true of any sifter though.I do like the magnetic base. The magnets are nice and strong, and the precision machined parts slide together nicely to make a stable connection. The grind action is very smooth on medium-course and up, but it does have an issue with grinding fine: the cylinder can be hard to grip, causing it to turn in your hand when the grinder snags. This is where I see the complaints about the magnetic base being valid, as it can be hard to find a comfortable way to hold it near the top when trying to push through. I ended up using a non-slip kitchen glove in order to get a good fine grind.Overall, and in my limited experience with manual grinders, this is an excellent grinder which could be made better with some slightly better ergonomics or at least non-slip material around the top of the cylinder.

Like the grind size adjustment, similar to kinu and xpro. Better visibility then kinu. Am really surprised how well it grinds for espresso and finer filter coffee. Am really happy with this grinder. I imagine it will produce fewer fines as the break in progresses.
