I bought this to replace an old one. The dial on the old one drifted off of zero and there was no way to re-center it. This model allows you to re-center the dial if that happens. The measuring tape is rather flimsy, but that's not a feature I care about

It says it's for carry on. I only have carry on and every ounce counts when travelling international. This luggage scale is much too large and would take up too much valuable space and weight in my carry on. I am returning it. Need something lighter and smaller. I tried to return at UPS drop off as suggested. There are no UPS drop places in Prineville. I have to travel 40 miles RT to go to Redmond for the drop off! That isn't an option when living in a rural community. Why can't I use return mail with USPS?

So far this handy little piece of gear works perfectly. It's super light, and well worth that weight to take with you when you travel. I checked it against my digital bathroom scale, and it's been right on.
