They are too thick to easily clip and unclip

I purchased these snaps to fabricate stinger hooks. Before I took them fishing I thought it best to test their strength. I tied one of the 7mm snaps to an eight pound weight, see the pic. When lifted, the snap opened up and would fail under normal fishing scenarios. I also bought the 6mm size and didn't bother testing them as the result would be worse. I also tested Fas-Snaps size 24 (made in USA) and they passed the eight pound trial.

They are exactly as advertised. I only gave 4 because when using small flies it is a little difficult to change out but I guess they have to be tight so you don't lose what you're using. Honestly I went back to tying but if I ever toss a spinning rod because it's too small an area I would use these again.

These are great for ULTA light fishing techniques. I use 2 or 4lb test line with very small diameters, and they weigh nothing.

Worked well. I like that I do not have to tie on different flies. Nice that there are multiple sizes.

Small size for smallest fly and larger one for larger flys and lures.Makes it easier to attach and not eat up the leader.

A nice set of 5 sizes to fit from small flies to large topwater baits. As my hands and eyes age.... When using ultralight gear, tenkara and fly tippet, I spend more time trying to thread hooks and tie knots than fishing it seems sometimes, regardless of the knot I use. I've added magnifying glasses, carry a bit of black foam background to help see these 2 lb or so lines, and often sit down to tie, all of which just reduce my fishing time - hence the need (in my case) for clips like these. If I am worried about the clip affecting presentation, I now will tie a small leaders to some flies at home and use a loop on the line side to slip onto a clip. These clips are a strong steel and will certainly hold up for the line sizes I use and fish I catch.I also use some of the Mustad type that require you to circle you bait around the shaft to "clip" on and they can be difficult with certain baits.Great product and I'm glad I had the opportunity to try these.
