I ordered the Midwest Homes for Pets 42" tall double panel extension to replace the door section on another brand of 42" dog pen setup. I used the section crimp hinges from the door section I removed to add the double panel. I gained another 24" to the double pen setup we use camping. The height and horizontal wire spacing on the Midwest panels matched up with the existing panels I added on to. Great price for a two panel extension.

I did not want puppy to climb out of pen and I did not want predators to get puppy outside while in the pen.It’s was good, but then hard to change water bowls since you have to crawl in. It’s too heavy once top is on for one person to move alone. One person can move easier without the top on. I used a tarp to cover 1/2 the top for shade and found that works just as good and lighter.

Used this a couple times-once when the kids brought their pet chickens for a visit, and another time when traveling. Plan on using when trailer camping, as I think it adds stability to an ex-pen outside. Also protects small dog/cat from raptor attack.

Very easy to assemble, size is what it says it is and worked perfectly to cover our puppies playpen. I just added hooks so our puppy could not be able to get out while we where out.

Keeps my cats inside the patio so I can let them outside :) Works great. It's tall enough that the fat one can't jump it... the skinny one might be able to, but hasn't tried yet.

My little dog climbs out of the x-pen. She has already injured herself once. Nylon or canvas type covers are too easy for her to tear with her nails. She breaks the stitching. This thwarts her Houdini gene. I was a little concerned because the pen is a different brand but it fits perfectly. The hooks that attach it to the pen are metal so she won't be breaking them off. For my dog the mesh is heavy enough that she wouldn't be able to push it up but I used the hooks on half of it. The cover folds back so I have left half unattached so it is easy to get her in and out or access the door. This is not a pen/cover that I want to move often but it does come apart easily. It was a great solution for my problem.

This fits beautifully on top of my MidWest x-pen. My only complaint is the cut-out space for the door, only allows for the door to be on the right (when the pen is in a square-shape of course). Because the door can only be on the right for it to be opened it easily (without lifting the top), it makes the whole front wall sag out because of the weight of the door. This wouldn't affect it at all if I could arrange the panels and have the door on the left, but the way the top is welded and cut, it doesn't allow for that. It's annoying but it wouldn't keep me from buying another top. It opens nicely and fits great otherwise. I love the peace of mind knowing no other pet can get in my bun's house uninvited.

This is a great addition to the exercise pens. Very easy to install, the description says bolts but its the same latches they use to close the exercise pens. Comes with 8. Its also very easy to clean. You can remove the clips on one side and it can fold over to have half the cage open. The door opens just as easy with the top installed. I breed beagles and chickens and use this for both. It makes a great portable play pen for puppies or chickens. It prevents my puppies from climbing out and the hawks from getting my chicks. It would be very nice if Midwest would make the wires closer together since its just big enough for my puppies to get their mouths caught.

I just started taking my two Westies to Barn Hunt trials. My tiny one can climb out of the pen when it is not covered, in an instant. After buying one of these tops, the pen is much more stable and she doesn't even try to climb out. It is wonderful to know she is secure. It also does give a great platform for a tarp to be placed on the pen (for sun and/or rain protection) and attached with bungee cords. I agree that the clips that come with it are cheaply made and small, but they work fine and for my purpose they are perfect. I have a tiny car and small and light is best. That is the same reason I prefer the top to be made of a lighter weight material than the pen itself. Others have commented that the company is saving money by making the top out of different metal, but again, for me, the weight is important to me as I stuff the car with all this paraphernalia. It makes it easier to handle as well since it is a challenge putting together and breaking down the pen and top alone, while trying to manage two dogs in parallel. Net: I LOVE this product and it enabled me to do this sport with my dogs.
