This set of dipping plates is a unique addition to a kitchen dish set. As the name implies, it can be used to hold a sauce for dipping into, or it can be used to serve a small appetizer or finger foods. Out of the box, all of our plates had a logo on both the top and bottom, which I was a little annoyed to see at first. Then, I realized that the logo on the top was a sticker. Thankfully they peeled off without much hassle and with no residue, but it felt a little wasteful to me to have a sticker that just mirrored what's on the bottom of the plates anyway. The plates are sturdy and a good thickness, though a little shallow in my opinion. They're good for thicker sauces such as ketchup, but when using a more watery sauce such as dipping dumplings into a soy sauce mixture, I'd prefer something with slightly steeper sides.

These Mikasa dippling/serving plate are absolutely classic, lovely, and elegant. The underside says Limited Edition 50th Anniversary, which makes me feel extra fancy. We like the style - French Countryside, which is also noted on the underside. As appetizer and/or mini plates they work for an array of starter edibles pre-set in a living room when folks come over for a dinner party or family occasion. We love that the plates feel sturdy with a little heft. Love that they come in a set of six plates. The quality a brand like Mikasa confers, yet they're reasonably priced for a set of six!Guests enjoyed cheeses, crackers, a variety of crudite veggies, hummus to dip, sliced fresh fruit, and dried fruit. Can't wait to uses these plates, again. I received a couple of compliments on them!I'm sure these little plates could also double as a mini salad plate, if you have only 6 guests and want to conserve space in the dishwasher at the end of the evening.Highly recommended!I write honest reviews to help others make informed purchases. Since I rely on reviews, too, I appreciate how helpful they can be in my purchasing decisions. Hope my review has helped you.

Not shown in the ad, but on the inside of each dish is a sticker promoting Mikasa's 50th Anniversary. Thank goodness these are removable, as three of the six plates have the stickers carelessly applied at an angle that looks terrible. The stickers are difficult to remove with my arthritic fingers. The 4.25-inch set of 6 Mikasa French Countryside Appetizers or Dipping Plates lives up to Mikasa's quality. These creamy white plates have a flawless finish.Every night, my two cats are fed their medicine disguised in some wet food. I've been using bowls but decided these plates are purr-fect as they are shallow and won't touch their whiskers.Full Disclosure: I received this product for free from the Vine program but received no payment for this Review. I grew up with my mom working in a department store that sold Mikasa. I remember her telling me as a preteen what good quality Mikasa was and that she would pass down all her pieces to me someday. Obviously at that age I blew her off but as a wife and mom now, I get what she meant by the quality. I now pickup any Mikasa pieces when I see them, because I know firsthand how well they hold up. We frequently make kbbq at home, and I was in the market for something for all the different banchans. My husband eats a ton, so I was basically delegating his own set of banchan dishes, so he'd stay away from mine haha. These are the perfect size for my banchan, and I absolutely love them. They're perfect for dips as well. These are not stark white, more of a creamy/off white, and a really pretty design! In this day and age, I don't have very many things in my house that I can't put in the dishwasher so I appreciate that I can microwave these and also not have to hand wash anything. These little appetizer dishes may be a higher price point than other similar items, but the Mikasa quality is top tier and well worth it! Love these.

So, I’ve been looking for a small size dipping sauce plates as I’ve just been using these stainless steel ones that looks like a miniature cup or bowls, and let me tell you, they don’t work very well as I can barely fit anything in it, unless it’s spring rolls. Not to mention, I cannot see whether or not I’ve successfully dipped my appetizer or main dish in it. Of course, I can always use an appetizer plate for my dipping sauce, but they’re a bit too wide to go with my regular size dinner plate plus a glass of water or wine, in order for all three to fit on top of my TV dinner table. What a conundrum, when you gotta have a dipping sauce on everything! 🤭Anyway, to make the story short, I couldn’t be any more pleased to have found these “French Countryside Appetizer, Dipping Plates, Set of 6, 4.25 Inch” by Mikasa, in pure white, which are exquisitely-made, durable, deep (which is perfect for dipping sauces), and just the perfect size, which aren’t too big and not too small either. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for and more, since I learned upon unboxing that these are actually Limited Edition, which are especially made in celebration of Mikasa’s 50 Years Anniversary, making these dish even more special to me as these are Collectible! That said, I absolutely recommend these dipping sauce plates by Mikasa to others as these aren’t only well worth the asking price, but these can definitely serve you and your guests well for many years to come with proper care, since these are made of stoneware, which are known to be very solid quality and durable. Hope this review helps. ♥️
