I use my poncho for my bushcraft and hiking. This mil-tec poncho is the toughest one I've found so far. I've had a couple others from other we'll know brands, (who shall remain nameless here), and this mil-tec poncho out performs them easily. It isn't the largest poncho, (only short by about 50mm/2"), but is durable, absolutely waterproof and quick/easy to deploy. The only downside I've found is that because it isn't made of breathable material, when hiking or in hot weather, I can become damp underneath it, (due to sweating), but this is easily remedied by "flapping" the poncho. It also covers me and my 34L hiking bag easily or just covers me and my 50L bushcraft bag.

The poncho comes in a nice drawstring pouch. When it's in the pouch, it takes up about as much space in my EDC bag as the hooded windbreaker I had been using. Getting it back in the pouch requires some effort, but it's not bad.The day after I got it we had a good old-fashioned Tornado Alley thunderstorm. Between the poor visibility and water accumulating on the pavement, traffic on the expressways was only going about 45mph. I donned the poncho, carried my EDC bag under it, stopped at a convenience store on the way to work to get breakfast, and walked in from the parking lot to my office. Result - my clothes and shoes were completely soaked from the knees down and completely dry from from the knees up. My EDC bag easily fit under the poncho. If you need a rugged, waterproof garment, that can cover you and a small to medium size pack, this is a really good choice.

I purchased for a trip for my son. It can certainly fit a tall person. On a small person, it comes down pretty low, but at least it wasn't dragging. The strings are meant to be versatile, I guess if you want to use ties to make it as an emergency shelter or something. This is more sturdy than cheaper plastic rain ponchos where the neckline rips. It is definitely reusable. One thing that I did not expect is that the outside of the poncho is nylon fabric, like an umbrella or slick sleeping bag fabric but on the inside is the same type of heavy duty plastic liner that other rain ponchos are made out of. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, the heavy duty plastic really helps it stay waterproof. It also weighs it down so that it isn't flimsy and fly-away at the slightest breeze. This feature also makes this poncho pretty toasty. This is good if you are in a cold, rainy situation, but this is not the poncho for you to have on hand on your trip to the tropics. You would probably want something a little more lightweight and breathable for that. Having the nylon on the outside makes it easier to brush off dirt.

I was anxious about the neck hole size, but had nothing to worry about. I have a large 7 & 5/8 head size and the fit was very accommodating, in fact, there is plenty of room. This is a fine Poncho; it is very light, has 6-full sized grommets with cords attached; has at least 8-double buttons (they will button either way); pull cord cinches and I simply love the material. I laid it out on my queen sized bed and it almost completely covered the top. With my BOB pack on it will cover the pack, but just barley; further the selves come down about 2/3 of the way when extending my arms. I am completely pleased with the purchase and have already attached to to my bag that I carry in my truck. Thanks for the quicker than expected delivery.

I've purchased and worn a lot of ponchos in my day and this is one of nicest I've ever put my head into.My old one that I've worn for years was a plastic type and camo (I use camo when out photographing birds) and it's been repaired multiple times with so much duct tape that I think now it's more camo duct tape than poncho. It wasn't too bad and it's served me well, but when I went to buy a new one I wanted the best I could find. This was a welcomed replacement and before I even opened it I could tell by the weight that it was top notch.I wanted camo again, but this a nice olive drab so it'll suit my purposes of blending in when I'm photographing the birds. The pictures really don't do it justice as it definitely a real army olive drab. The material is thick. The eyelets are solid. Everything about this is quality. Even the sack it comes to store it in.I love this.Oh, after I got this I started reading about the woobies? These are the poncho liners that people use so I wound up buying this as well (see the photo, fits perfect):https://smile.amazon.com/Military-Poncho-Liner-MARPAT-Digital/dp/B00BTJ3DO6/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1480708897&sr=8-3&keywords=woobie+poncho+linerThe nice part about this combo? If you live in a temperate tropical area like I do (Florida) you can easily get away with using this for a sleeping bag if you're back packing or camping. Also handy for a day hike if you're in a colder region and you just want a backup for your day hike in case you need to hunker down.Another great thing about this poncho is with some paracord and some stakes or simple wood spikes you cut from tree limbs, you've got an instant emergency shelter.I like to buy things that can serve multiple purposes and I've been camping and back packing for over 30 years and I was not disappointed on any level with this and like it.I am also a very harsh but fair judge of products. If you're like me, you won't regret this purchase.

When I ordered this poncho the company sent me an email to inform me that it would take a few weeks to arrive. I was fine with this because the price was considerably lower than many other sites. I was pleased to see that they shipped it out very fast, and it ended up arriving sooner that expected. The poncho itself is more than big enough to keep you entirely dry. It also works well as a sleeping bag when combined with a poncho liner. The snaps on the sides are pretty heavy duty and the hood is an excellent size for keeping you dry regardless of head size. The tie down ropes work great for hanging it up to dry, also it rolls up pretty small for storage.I've tested this poncho on a long walk in freezing rain. When I took it off I was happy to see that I was completely dry. There is a rope they you can use to tighten the waist area of the poncho in closer. I'm not personally crazy about it, but it is easily removable. From what I've see this feature seems to be fairly standard across army reproductions.Overall it's a fantastic deal and a great product.
