This is a great activity to pass time. Unlike colour by numbers, you do not know which picture you are colouring when you start! There is a mixture of big (2paged) and small (1 paged) photos! I would recommend also buying mindwares coloured pencils so you aren't guessing whether "is this considered golden?"

Color by number is one of my favorite categories of coloring books. This book is amazing fun. I do have the Mindware colored pencils that I am using in this book, but the colors are easy enough to color match with whatever your preferred media is. There is a 36 color palette for the book.The pages are single-sided so you can use alcohol markers, though I honestly wouldn't recommend it due to the way they tend to bleed. Make sure you add a blotter page whether you use alcohol markers or not.I believe the squares are 5mm. The numbers are easy to read, though I do have to have a light on because they are a light grey. The white squares have no number which is great. I hate having to white out numbers from white spaces in other books.These books have a random assortment of images. Mindware has another series that has a specific theme for each book. There are 4 double-sided images per book. The double-sided pages are back-to-back.They use 1/2 squares in rounded areas so do look more detailed than the majority of the mosaic type color by number books.Now for the con: These books only have 18 images so compared to most books their $8.95 plus $2.99 shipping cost makes them pretty expensive for what you get. Mindware was having a sale on their site so I did pick up several more books there, but even without the shipping costs $9 for 18 images is considerably more costly than most other color by number books.The cost is really my only complaint. I will probably keep buying them as I finish them because I do really enjoy the process of coloring them and the images do look very nice, but I will grumble about it every time.
