No installation is required. I like the simplicity of the product. It does what I need it to do and shows me data that I need to know on a small screen. So far so good

I work a lot and don't have time to get to the gym, so I try to fit little workouts in at my home. Lifting weights is easy to do with a set a of weights. The hard thing to do is cardio. I have a bike, actually two. One is a full size exercise bike, the other is a mini 'under the desk' bike thing (about the same size as this stair-stepper). I don't use either of them anymore. They're just not comfortable.I use this little machine almost every day. I prefer running or walking to biking, so this is ideal for me. I had considered getting a little treadmill, but I really don't have the room for it. When I saw this I grabbed it immediately. It's really easy to setup. Just pop the battery in the step counter, and put the handholds on the side. That's basically it. and the little wheel to adjust the resistance. Then start stepping.I'm a big dude (around 250 pounds) and this holds me up quite well. I have this machine sitting in view of my TV. so I can just put on some show and get a little cardio in. It's a great way to boost your health and try to stay in shape without leaving the house. I just try to set a goal for number of steps (like 50 or 100), do it, then take a little break.it's easy to stand on too. I don't feel like I'll lose my balance or anything.

I ordered this to use in my bedroom while watching tv. Setting it up wasn't terribly difficult, but I almost couldn't find the battery in the bag. It's a solid stepper that is lighter than I expected, but still heavy duty. I do not see how this might work under a desk though. It's a little awkward when standing in it since you will be raised quite a bit up from the floor. The resistance band attachments are helpful in keeping your balance. I would say if you have any knee issues, this might not be the exercise tool for you. While my knees do not cause me any pain, I can hear them crackle/crunch with each movement. For the few minutes I used it, I did feel like I was working out.Overall, a nice stepper.

It was easy to set this machine up. There is a knob to control depth of step. I had to put a tall stool in front of the stair stepper to have something to hold on to while exercising. The included resistance bands do nothing for balance so I didn't use them. Although there is a knob to control step depth, there is no adjustment for step resistance. I would have liked to make it a bit easier to start. Overall, its a useful exercise machine for days when its not possible to get to the gym or exercise outdoors. I could feel it in my legs after the first 15 minute workout so I'm sure that over time my legs will get stronger.
