I gave this Two stars because the knotting and sizing is great. That being said this is not yacht rope. This is plastic strands covered in rope. You can see in the picture the pink halter is a couple weeks old. I put it on my pony and the next morning it was missing. I found it after a week and you can see the amount of fading after a week. I washed it in the washing machine like I do with all my halters and lead ropes because it was pretty dirty. When I took it out of the wash plastic strands were sticking out in multiple places. When this one went missing I bought another one and in one our the fioder knot on the chin same untied. I assume that is because it is plastic inside and not rope. I am conserved with the safety of this rope on horses because the plastic strands are not even braided inside the rope exterior. I also bought a long lead rope from this company and the rope just slides up e and down on the interior part so now I expect that it is also plastic on the inside. Very disappointed with this purchase. I expected it to be made out of the cheaper poly rope but didn’t expect that the rope could be that bad. I rarely write reviews but I would not have purchased this if I had known the quality was so lacking.

This fit my mini donkey perfectly. Well made, not too thick, and looks adorable on her. The lead rope is also well made, love the leather on end for when she needs a little tap to get the stubbornness moving!

This halter is beautiful in texture and color and very durable in wet weather. It still looks new. A little snug sized my pony is maybe more Shetland size, but the flexibility in cord allowed me to reduce the knots and get a nice fit! Also, the lead rope size with popper is perfect for little ones or elderly hands. Soft to the touch!

Nice little halter. The smaller diameter lead is perfect for my 7 year old daughter when using on her mini. The lead isn’t a super high quality yacht rope type that jiggles super responsively, but if it were it would probably be double the price and it does have a real leather popper on the end. No complaints at all on the quality of the halter itself; it’s appropriately thin and stiff, not overly bulky like some cheap rope halters. I would definitely buy from the seller again.

So far it is working well for our pony. But it is almost too small, he’s a 40in Shetland, thought I’d have more wiggle room under his chin. But I’ll use it strictly for training sessions and then put his breakaway back on.

Very nice to have a 4 knot halter that actually fits the minis. They are much more responsive in training and it makes it nice to use a lighter hand. At first I was surprised by the small diameter lead rope but as soon as I had to gather it in my hand to longe I was immediately thrilled with it. It’s very strong but so much easier to hold properly when you are holding a training stick as well. Very very pleased. And the burgundy color looks beautiful on my little black mini. You won’t be sorry if you get this.
