Product Description

"We get asked, “Why Make the Miracle LED Bug Light?” The answer is simple. Old typical light bulbs used in indoor and outdoor fixtures alike emit white light, which is naturally attractive to insects. Beware of bulbs that are just covered yellow plastic white light bulbs, MiracleLED’s special bug light spectrum is generated by the LED itself. It shines in a mellow-yellow color that’s invisible to insects. They are great for porch lights, especially those placed close to doorways, to avoid insects flying into your home when people enter and exit. They’re also an excellent addition to any driveway lanterns and other outdoor lighting, such as around pools or decks, to make evening entertaining more pleasant. The 3W Energy Saver Bug Light has a beautiful amber glow that light areas securely and effectively without attracting biting bugs. It does this by giving off virtually no heat over ambient, even spiders and moths are not attracted. Looks great in Coach Lights, Outdoor Wall Lights, and recessed fixtures. When used outdoors and protected from the weather with an enclosed fixture like a sconce or shade, they will provide long lasting lighting without swarms of bugs. Purchased in August of 2012, I have been using 2 of these miniature spot bulbs at my summer cottage for almost 4 years now in a fixture that lights paths from my garage to my front door and to my neighbor’s house. They are working as well today as they were the day I installed them! When I came up this season I they appeared dimmer than they had been last year, so I called the manufacturer who promptly and happily replaced them requesting only that I return the problem bulbs in the box in which I received the replacements so that he could determine (and remedy) the problem in future bulbs.Upon receiving and installing the new bulbs, I realized that in fact they had not become dimmer, rather the winter weather had moved the fixture so that they were not properly aimed at the paths! I refocused them and all is well again. I do want to add that these are 2 watt bulbs, and produce 200 lumens, bright enough to just light the path, VERY inexpensively! Since they burn all night, that’s what I was seeking. In summary, my entire experience with this product and with the company’s customer service leaves no room for improvement. Keep up the Good Work!I will add that I am now 72 years of age. If I were to live as long as I am sure these bulbs will last, I would break a record for longevity!

I have two locations in which I use this bulb: on my back deck in a directional fixture, and by my front side door to illuminate the steps and door knob. Not only are they plenty bright, but they have not attracted nearly the number of bugs as white lights and have been used almost constantly for over two years. So I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. Anyone complaining about the light output likely overlooked that these bulbs are directional. That means they produce a cone of downward light and not a sphere of light. They are also only 2 watts. Even as LEDs, that's not going to light a huge area like your entire front porch. But if your goal is to illuminate a relatively small area so that you can see key features at night without attracting bugs, then this bulb is perfect. It certainly seems to attract fewer bugs than the yellow fluorescents lighting my front porch. Though that may simply be a result of the increased amount of light illuminating my front porch (5 yellow fluorescent candelabra bulbs). In sum, if you're looking for directed light output that will minimize bug attraction, this fits the bill. And in case you're not aware, some bugs are attracted to light period, regardless of color. So the extremely low wattage of this bulb and focused light output are probably also part of why this bulb work so well.

Live in WI up north. Have tried every color of bulb I could get my hands on, nothing worked very well. So I got 4 of these to see what would happen. I have had these now for 3 months, and not a one bug. Normally the bugs swarm at my front door as I leave lights on 24/7. However with these, I can open the door and nothing happens. They fit in the lamp housing fine, its just a slight yellow tint, I can see who's at the door great. Once its on for awhile it gets to its max brightness. So if you are looking for a outdoor light that dosent attract bugs, this is it hands down.4.11.2017 Update:So about 1 month ago, 1 light started flickering, now 3 out of 4 are doing it. So They work great with the bugs, however they dont last more than 1 Wisconsin winter. Too bad as they are not cheap. Now I have to look for something else I guess.

Recently buying a used home gave me the incentive to go out and try to not only fix what was broken but to better it if I could. That said the home needed several different styles of light bulbs as it was a foreclosure.I have recently purchased several different brands and designs of LED bulbs for this project. This bulb works in that it gives out light and does seem to attract a few less bugs than the standard bulb that was there prior. It fails in that the LEDs only face in one direction as noted by others. It does not give off the same amount of light that other 50watt equivelent bulbs do. Lastly it looks to be cheaply made. While this is simply my opinion, I base the statement in comparison of other brands in the same price and wattage output.I would not reccomend this bulb to a friend.
