After reading previous reviews on Amazon I bought this produce to replace the sand in a sand filter. Last year was the first time using it and it worked just as well as the sand did. When it was time to close the pool for the season all you have to do it place the filter balls in the mesh bag that comes with them, throw them in the washing machine, and put them up until next summer.

The balls worked great until dirty, and then they wouldn’t back flush clean like a sand filter. If you have the time and capability of a smaller pump and just toss them in the wash it might be a good option for you. Did not equal the filtering capabilities of sand for our setup. 3500gph pump

I’m on my 2nd set and just ordered my third. The first set lasted 12 months in Florida. No wasting pool water backwashing, no DE grids to pull out and clean. On a cost-basis, cheaper than DE or cartridges. Keeps my pool clearer than anything else.

These work far better than sand, in my opinion, and they are easy to clean. Seems to filter out the elements better than sand. My sand filter seems to work better. I have a 12" sand filter and this set was the perfect amount for my filter.

We’re easy to use and no heavy lifting of sand. My pool was off for one week while we were waiting on new filter. Installed filter and used these instead of sand and it was crystal clear in a few hours

Do not waste your money. This product does not work at all!!! I could literally watch the dirt flow straight back into the pool while I was vacuuming. They claimed one package replaced 50 pounds of sand but it does not. One pack of these didn’t even fill my filter half way and it does not clean my pool at all. Have been using it for a week now.

Green pool upon opening, full of algae from the winter months, cleared up in less than 24 hours with my usual chemicals and these magic filter balls. Backwash and rinse only needs to be done 2-3 weeks vs every week like traditional sand. People saying they don’t work, 9 times out of 10 cloudy or green water is your pool chemistry. The pump can only help so much, you must maintain your levels. I’m very pleased! Next year I’ll try to actual filter balls name brand available at my local pool store to see if there’s any difference. But, to take my pool from what it was on opening day, to swim ready in 24 hours?! I’m sold!

I used these for a Colman pool instead of the basic cartridges. I had to make a sort of gate to protect them from going out of the filter. I just tore apart two of the many old filters I had thrown away and used the plastic white circle Basket thing from the centers and two of the blue rubber tops. I used zipties to keep them together in an I shape and I filled the balls into where that white paper stuff use to be! Very easy! Loved theses! It was so easy to clean them and it kept the pool sparkling!
