These valves have a comfortable smooth 1/4 turn on/off movement. They seem quite sturdy. I've had some in the yard for several months and there's no sign of wear or weakening.I rather wish they'd sell them in packages of more than 3, at a volume discount. Before buying here on Amazon be aware of the very high shipping cost.I recommend them only for on/off use. That's what 1/4 turn handles are good for. If you want to adjust low/medium/high flow, you should have a valve with continuous turn, or at least a large handle. In this regard the ad copy seems misleading as it does suggest 'adjusting' the flow and the spray distance.

I need to adjust the stream going to my bird bath dripper, so I bought this. I've had much more expensive ones, but they always fail and are hard to adjust. I've had this since June, and it still works fine. These are so inexpensive that if they fail, I don't really care. The stream isn't easy to adjust, as with all these drippers. It's difficult to get the right amount of drip in that extraordinarily small range between open and shut, but it's doable with a little finesse. It's certainly not as bad as others I've had and it's maybe a little better. I'm not sure why it's so difficult to create a dripper valve that actually allows you to get just the right amount of drip, but apparently it is or there would be better options on the market. As I said, I'm not as annoyed with this one since at least I didn't spend a lot of money to get something I have trouble with. I also have other valves that are more variable with temperature, so the drip rate changes with heat and cold. I haven't found that as much with this one - it requires far less fussing with. So overall I'm satisfied with this, which is why I gave 4 stars despite my complaints. Until something better comes along, this is the valve to get. I know people use these for hose drippers for irrigation too, and I think it will work for that purpose as well.
