I've worked on many electronic repairs from XBox 360, Nitendo DS, Switch, IPod, Laptops. Yeah I can repair electronics, even have the magnifying glasses. I followed all the steps, also watched a video to know what to expect. Did the testing phase before I did the final glue down. The top of the digitizer works, but not the bottom. Also the home button works, but you short the 2 pins together with anything metal that will function, so no surprise.Anyway folks, I was lured in by the next day delivery. Sending it back to be "checked" seems a waste of time and I'm sure they'll tell me it's my fault. I'll buy one from iFixIt. They always sell the good stuff.

I have a lot of experience replacing iPad screens. So for me this product made the whole product incredibly easy. The preinstalled adhesive and home button made it so simple. If you haven’t ever replaced a screen before, don’t expect it to be easy. Be gentle and take your time. Be sure to follow an online guide.

I replaced the fractured screen on my iPad 3 with this digitizer, and I am pleased with the results. The biggest thing that I suggest is to take your time, don’t rush it, and don’t force anything. I used a small hair dryer to soften up the adhesive several times in removing the original screen. The tools included in the kit were more than adequate for me to replace the screen, and the only other tools I used were for repairing the damage to the aluminum case.If you even want a chance of the screen adhering to the case, cleanliness is vital. I used Goo Gone, followed by alcohol scrubbing using lint free wipes. Also, try to do this in an area without drafts and dust, as anything that gets between the digitizer and the screen will forever be trapped like a wasp in amber once you lay the digitizer down.Realize that you are not getting an Apple product here for this price, so there are some shortcomings. The biggest one I can think of is that it has quite a reflective surface that gives of a strange color while turned off, in comparison to the OEM version. This mostly goes away when turned on, but not completely. But hey, for how easy this was for me to repair, and for as inexpensive as this was, I’m happy to have an old iPad working again, and I would purchase this digitizer again if I suffer another broken screen.I do suggest you watch some videos on YouTube showing how to do this procedure, and IFixit also has a good website with excellent instructions on replacing the digitizer. Doing this should alert you to any shortcomings of the included instructions, and also clear up any concerns you might have about the procedure, and prepare you for success.Hey, if a 71 year old guy with arthritis in both hands can pull this procedure off, chances are you too have a good probability of a successful outcome too!Enjoy…

Major points to MMOBIEL/Menko-Teleco for their customer service. I received the first screen for our iPad 3 and upon installation the touch screen/digitizer wouldn’t work except for the top 10% of the screen. Removed it and reinstalled it two more times with no luck. We recently replaced a newer model iPad screen with no issues and have done multiple iPhones and never had this type of problem (these are for our gym/business as check-in kiosks and music controls, and we are a little hard on our electronics!). I contacted the company via Amazon and had an email response, apology and full refund initiated within 6 hours of my email! I immediately reordered the same screen (this was the fastest way to get the new screen to me) and installed it as soon as I got it. The new touch screen/digitizer works perfectly! No issues whatsoever and it looks brand new. Now we just need a better case...

I have an iPad 3 which was dropped (glass cracked) about a year ago. Since then, I have replaced the glass 3 times. The first two times I used another digitizer available on Amazon, and both had adhesion issues (the glass never really stuck well to the iPad, and eventually stopped sticking, and ended up breaking). The third time, I went with this digitizer, and it worked perfectly. It had a different type of adhesive (not the 3M strips the other digitizer used), and immediately bonded to the iPad body. It fit perfectly, and unlike the other digitizers I used, the ribbon cable was short enough that the lower left corner wasn't pushing up. And this one is a couple dollars cheaper to boot. I am now back up and running with my old iPad 3, and it looks/works as good as new!

Installed this item today and works perfectly. Took my time and used a pre-paint prep solution to ensure the surfaces were not left with any residue. Writing this review on my iPad after the installation. Hardest part was keeping cleaning up all the small glass shards when removing the old cracked screen. It just crumbled away around the edges as I tried to peel it up but was due to the fact the corner you are supposed to start in was the corner that was damaged. If you are not familiar with small device repair you may want to have someone else install it but anyone that has an attention to detail and patience can accomplish this install. If you are able to remove the old screen in one piece this may go much quicker for you.

I was devasted when my iPad dropped to the floor and I picked it up only to see that the glass had smashed into pieces. Thankfully everything was in working order except for the fact that there were holes in my screen and dangerous edges. I researched replacing the screen and we decided to take a chance and give it a try, if it didn't work we would only be out around $30.There are many screen replacement kits for sale but the reason we chose this one was because:A. The tools were better quality than any of the other kits (metal not plastic).B. It comes with a digitizer, bezel, home button and camera cover (all the pieces you might need). When the kit arrived we were happy to see that the tools were indeed good quality and the glass, home button etc... Looked exactly like the original. The tape they use is 3M which is a great brand so we figured it would work well enough that we didn't need to buy our own. Before my husband began the actual process he took the flat metal tool used for prying the glass and sharpened it using a grinder so it would be easier (Highly recommend! If not you may need to use a small kitchen knife.) Because of the state of the iPad we taped the screen (leaving about 1/2" around the edges) using duct tape in order to keep as much of the glass together before starting to pry it up which ended up being a great time saver and a must do! We also watched a video on YouTube and found a couple pairs of gloves to protect our hands and the new screen from fingerprints. Also, make sure your iPad is turned off!We started off using a hair dryer as we were worried that a heat gun would be too hot but ended up having to just break and pry away the screen edges in pieces as the hair dryer just blew the glass pieces around. After all four sides had been broken we were able to peel back the center of the screen because it had been taped and flip it over to the left side as it is attached by the digitizer. You then remove four small screws holding down the lcd and then flip the lcd up in order to unplug both the lcd and the old broken glass. At this point take the tweezers included in the kit and start the tedious process of removing all the tiny glass shards from the inside of your iPad. Also, instead of completely removing the old glue that had been holding the glass on we just cleaned up the glass and kept it on there to help with the adherence of the new screen. Once everything is cleaned inspect your bezel, ours was not damaged in the process so we didn't replace it but it does come with the kit which is handy because apparently it is often ruined in the screen removal process. At this point we reattached the lcd screen and connected the new digitizer that is already attached to the new screen. Also, the home button and camera cover is already attached to the new screen so you are good to go. Once you've replaced the four screws remove the backing from the tape on your glass screen and the glass protecter then pop your screen into place in the bezel (you should hear a little snap). After all was said and done (An hour and a half in total) we turned the iPad back on and to our surprise the iPad looked like new and the screen replacement had been a success! I have been using it for a few days now and you would never know that it's not the original, it fits perfectly, looks and works exactly like the old one. As a matter of fact, I'm using it right now to write this review. I'm so happy we decided to replace the screen as we didn't trust anyone else to do it for us and a new iPad is expensive! If you are debating whether or not to give it a try I highly recommend you do!

I have a Ipad 3 that landed face down on a tile floor. The screen was shattered. I ordered this and the repair was perfect. Things to keep in mind.- the instructions included is clear , but I also watched a YouTube video before starting. The tools supplied are all you'll need ( except for heat gun or hair dryer ). The longest part of the repair is the removal of all glass from the broken piece. Overall , it was a 90 minute repair ( 60 being glass shard removal) The unit works fine with all functionality. Note: when you remove the led screen keep the screws somewhere safe and contained. They are very very small.
