This pistol is about what you would see on the street, or elsewhere as far as size. The .45 Colt is a very long pistol. The snubby revolvers almost have no muzzle at all. This is a pretty good sized pistol for practicing gun taking/gun retention. The rubber looks very durable, and it is not going to break, or bend.If you need something to practice aiming, or dry firing, I suggest that you move on some sort of inexpensive bb gun. Something that weighs about 2.5 pounds, because that is what you would probably be dealing with if you bought your own gun, from a gun shop. One thing that you can definitely do with this gun is to: get used to the shape of the gun. You can also bring it up in front of you, to zero in a shot (arm, perpendicular to your body), and then also out to the sides of your body (parallel to your body). Always zeroing in with the sights, or whatever is available. You can also buy the different models of these practice guns. So that you can familiarize yourself to what actually exists out in the real world. Or at least to what is available here in the USA.
