Handy hints:

  • Wash dirt and oils off hands, surfaces and tools with dishwashing liquid
  • Baking times may vary. In general, allow 30 mins baking time for every 6mm of thickness - test run recommended
  • Under normal baking, at the correct temperature, may generate a small number of fumes. Baking at higher than recommended temperatures can cause increased fumes and should be avoided (all fumes are non-toxic)
  • Place onto a foil sheet or ceramic tile (to diffuse and spread heat evenly) and into center of household oven preheated to 120 - 130 degrees C / 248 -266 degrees F and bake for 30 mins
  • Do not use a microwave with polymer clay
  • Hardened clay will accept additional layers of clay over it and can be re-baked
  • Keep unused clay fresh in cling film and store in airtight container in a cool, dry place

I bought this clay in a variety of colors to use with my second grade students. The clay was so hard to manipulate and crumbled. The kids weren't strong enough to work with the clay until it stopped crumbling. Very disappointed.

Excelente material!. Una gran alternativa cuando no tienes Super Sculpey. Es mas barata pero tambien tiene menos cantidad. Lo recomiendo al 100%

I run my own art business Turquoise Door Art Studio and run many camps with adults and kids from 5 and up! I have tried so many products and art supplies. The kids love working with this clay and so do I. It’s so smooth and easy to work with. It softens easy in your hands, smooths easily with minimal cracking. Even left out for a bit and worked tons it doesn’t dry out. The surface is perfect for painting. I already ordered more.

Bought this product because of the affordable price. This product is oily and that makes it stick to whatever surface you are working on or with; cutters, cutting knife, tile, etc. It is impossible to remove it from your work surface without it distorting extremely. I work regularly with polymer clay, primarily Sculpey, and it distorts slightly. Mont Marte is worse to the point of almost being unable to use. Also, you can bake most clay on paper. Mont Marte, probably because of the excess oil, sticks to the paper. You have to soak the piece in water to remove it. I tried mixing Sculpey 1/1 with it hoping it might make it usable. It did NOT. As I had to use it to learn the problems and I mixed it with another brand, I can't return it for a refund. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

I bought this as the price for the amount seemed too good to pass up. It is still a good value as baked pieces seem of good quality, but the clay itself doesn't seem to soften up much at all when worked. It remains pretty firm and unyielding, so I've had to use tools to shape it more than hands.

I like how smooth this clay looks but it is so hard--and dry--that it hurts my hands to work with it. It is like trying to cut through rubber with a butter knife. Also, it cracks (instead of stretching smoothly) while you're using it and won't stick to itself, so it is frustrating if you're trying to anything thin or curvy. I ended up having to use Sculpey (which is grossly sticky and messy) for layering and this brand just for tiny details and carving. The first brick of it that I initially used was great to work with--which is why I ordered this set of 3 bricks--but all 3 bricks in this set were hard and dry. Guess I'll have to stick with other brands.
