So I swapped a 2014 rubicon jk axle under my 1998 Cherokee. I needed a steering link and this one works pretty well, but it had complications. The jk has longer steering linkage than xj so I cut the threads shorter and it fits perfectly. I reamed the xj pitman arm so it would fit the jk’s larger ball joint. All in all it’s awesome, not hollow inside, very strong, driven over 15k miles and still good with no play.

Great value and seems to be heavy duty. I purchased this with adjustment sleeve and tie rod end. No issues with alignment, highly recommend!

The original link had some play on it affecting how it was going down the road. The new drag link looks to be very well makes and almost identical to the oem one but its also greaseable which is nice.Just like all moog parts it's very well made and a perfect replacement.

Never have I ever......received a ball-joint or tie-rod end that was shipped without something protecting the threads - that's just asking for trouble. The inner shipping box looked as though it had been shipped before without an outer box; re-taped ends and several holes where the threaded portions (both ends of this part) ventilated the box for me. There is damage to the adjuster-end threads AND the threaded portion of the joint-end on the tie-rod. I guess it's supposed to function like a self-locking flange nut; the damaged portions of thread will lock the nut and adjuster in place - clever huh? Tomorrow, before I install it, I'll have a closer look and see if the threads are damaged to the point that I need a replacement... Just a couple of thoughts, aside from the whining about nicked threads; the part is just plenty sturdy. I've seen reviews complaining that the part isn't painted, if that bothers you give 'er a squirt of rattle-can primer & paint. This thing might rust up a 'lil-bit, but I'm pretty sure it won't rust through to the point of structural degradation in my natural lifetime, so - it's a non-issue to me. Also; the one-star review states that they didn't like the 'way the part was presented' which is just another way of saying, "I don't know what I'm doing, what I needed to order or what I'm talking about." Ok, so the listing SAYS "tie rod end," which it IS technically because it's the tIe-rod end of the drag-link assembly. Enough said!Oh, and I'd have given it 5-stars if it arrived without the beaten-up threads.
