Doesn't take all the weight of the tailgate, but slows it down enough to keep it from banging when it's all the way down. If you have the tools and a little patience it's a simple install.

The item is OEM and that made for an easy install. The price and availability of the tailgate damper makes for a great value. Money well spent!

If you have a 2019 Ram 1500, do not buy that other kit someone selling that attach to the outside of the tailgate. This Mopar shock damper goes on the inside behind the driver's tail light. Very easy to install only took me 5 minutes. Great value and genuine Mopar part.

OEM tailgate assist is the only way to go !! Dealer wanted 300 plus to install ? Got it on Amazon for 44 bucks installed in 10 minutes and its hidden behind tail light . works flawlessly. The aftermarket ones are 15 bucks less but get tangled and don't last Do it right for your 2020 big horn !! Ps I ordered the auto trim removal kit for 10 bucks from Amazon to avoid scratching paint from plastics clip removal easy

Product arrived quickly. Literally took less than 10 minutes to install (could be done faster but what's the rush). Works great, awesome that its hidden within the taillight. Simple addition that makes a huge difference.

Very easy to install on my 2019 Ram DT. Works like a charm and hides behind the left tail light. Lets it fall at a controlled speed. Kinda pricey for what it is and how simple it is, but worth the money.

One star for the hassle of having to return this item because the sellers description is inaccurate. I'm sure it works great if it fits. Seller needs to update models this fits. I have a 2019 RAM 1500 Big Horn Classic Crew Cab. This product does not fit Classic Crew Cab
