About this item

  • Thicker shackles for added strength
  • Bronze bushings for more durability
  • Greasable bolts for less maintenance
  • Fits Stock or Equaflex with 3-1/8" shackles
  • Tandem Axle

The heavy duty kit includes 1/2” shackle brackets, bronze bushings, greaseable or “wet bolts” and nuts. The 1/2” shackle links are a stronger, more durable product that is much less subject to having the bracket elongate. The bronze bushings and wet bolts provide an opportunity for periodic lubrication that will greatly extend the product life. The heavy duty shackle kit is available for both tandem and triple axle trailers and will fit units with upgraded suspension systems.

Better made and included the bushings, which not all do. The fit was very tight so I did have to use a C-clamp to get the shackles together enough to start the nuts but the assembly went well.

These are a serious upgrade over the stock sized components. Installation was pretty easy, you'll need a vice or a C-Clamp and some various sockets to press the new bushings into your springs, and to press the new bolts into your hangers. Hammering is tricky under a trailer so I recommend the c-clamp press method. I used the nut off the old bolt on the head of the new bolt to protect the grease zerk, then a socket on the other side to let the head of the bolt pass through. I also used one of the new shackles + 2 of the old shackles to brace the 2 sides of the hanger while using the C-clamp to press in the new bolt. This stopped the hanger from flexing and getting pinched and keeps the C-clamp pushing squarely on both sides. Be careful when you torque the nuts, they are pressed in very firmly in most cases but one of mine spun at about 50lbs and ruined the hanger so I had to flip it in the other direction. Put a wrench on both sides to be safe. Otherwise the instructions are clear and it's relatively simple work as long as you have plenty of jack stands. I used 6 stands, 2 bottle jacks, 2 scissor jacks and a whole heap of wood blocks to get the job done.

Used these before on a utility trailer. The original shackles and hardware are garbage and these are a must have upgrade for anyone that actually uses they’re trailer.

I didn't realize how bad my stock bushings were. These should extend the life of my suspension.

These shackles are really thick! They fit well and the greasable pin-bolts are top-notch even for stock nylon bushings. They fit equally well into my morryde cre3000 equalizer with bronze bushings. Only thing is one shackle had the bolts pressed in at a slight angle and wouldn't fit the 2nd shackle half, without a little massaging with the vice. The nuts aren't great though. 7/16-20 fine thread interference jam nuts. While installing (pulling) the bolts into position, coupled with hammering said bolts in, the nuts lost the lock/interference function. They're 1 time use. I installed jam nuts on top of them to help them stay tight.I recommend buying a couple standard 7/16-20 nuts to install the bolts, then going back and installing these nuts once the bolts are set.Don't overtorque! These bolts have a shoulder for the nuts to bottom (unlike stock ones) so once they tighten, they torque really quickly. This is a good idea to maintain a tight connection and still give the hangers enough room for the springs to move freely without collapsing them.

Fit my 7000 pound axle car hauler with little issues. Had one nut try to strip out and only two of the six individual bolts grease zerks would take grease. Installed everything well packed with grease so it shouldn’t be an issue for awhile. Still far better than the 20 year old hardware I replaced and made in the USA!

They came on time and all. Everything was the correct length and all that. All four of the pre pressed shackles the bolts were aimed outward a good 1/8th inch. Made it impossible to get the other side of the shackle on. Luckily I had a table vice I used to squeeze them closer together so they would fit inside the other side of the shackle. The groves on the bolts that keep it from spinning are a little too long in my opinion. I would say to make them shorter that way it's easier to get the bolt through the other side of the hole. Since the way they are now at least in my situation the groves hit the first side of the hanger before going through the hole ok the other side so you have to lift the spring/axle while either holding a socket to the bolt and hitting it with a hammer or taking off the grease fitting and hitting it. 3 of the bolts aren't taking grease which I honestly should have checked prior to installing. I'm not sure if it's the fitting or the bolt itself. I'll have to buy a couple of grease fittings to see what it does. But the concept and everything is heavy duty I just wish they had fitted everything prior to packaging it to make sure everything went on smoothly and everything worked correctly with each other. The rating isn't based on everything said in this review but only based on the fitment of the shackles on each other which I shouldn't have had to worry about, and the couple of bolts that weren't getting grease. I installed these on a 14 foot utility trailer.

When I received the kit I was not sure if it was authentic due to the markings on the black bolts. I contacted Morryde to confirm and after discussing my concerns I was sent out 4 bolts with #5 markings on them. I installed the kit myself and an X factor brace. I’m happy with the products and the installation.

Used this on a 7' x 18' tandem utility trailer. This MOR/ryde set up is AWESOME. All the bushings are brass and not plastic. All the metal components are thick and solid! The bolts are "wet" which means they have a grease fitting that allows me to grease EVERY moving part. SIMPLY BRILLIANT. The other benefit is that the suspension system is SO quiet that I don't hear a noise when pulling over rough ground. GREAT PRODUCT! Additionally, I used the MOR/ryde set-up in combination with a Dexter K7138400 Conversion Kit. Which moved the suspension springs on top of the axles instead of the axle running "inside" the spring. The factory "inside the spring" axle set up cause me problems as the body of the trailer was too close to the ground. I had problems with backing the trailer up my driveway as the back of the trailer would drag the ground until the wheels got to the driveway. Putting the springs on top of the axles gave me the height I needed, so no more dragging my frame on uneven terrain. One point to make is that the Dexter K7138400 Conversion Kit instructions recommend that you tack weld their spring support bracket to your axle. I did not do it initially as I did not have access to a welder during the install. I used the trailer once and double checked the set up after the pull and I DID have one of the brackets slip to one side. I disassembled and put it back in place and then welded the bracket to my frame. MAKE SURE YOU TACK THAT BRACKET TO YOUR AXLES.
