Connection fitting where hose is crimped to the ends is leaking. Good thing I test rode it connected to my clutch line and not any of my brakes.

I installed this and it blew out the side after two rides. It is flowing out from under the black shrink tubing.

I bought this to replace the rear brake line on my 1998 Suzuki DR 650. It is a bit off for that application though I was able to make it work. The only negative of the product as is, is that the chrome finish on the banjo fittings looks a bit cheap. It's possible that its a bit shorter than listed but I can't say for sure. I bought it over a month ago, but just got around to installing it, so I do not recall the specifications that I tried to match up in finding a replacement. It is as likely that I measured the old line incorrectly as it is that this one is perhaps an inch or two shorter than the original. I am pretty sure I purchased one that I thought was listed as the same length as the original, but who really knows. I have installed this and it is working without leaks. A definite improvement over the 24 year old rubber line. Moving up to the 70 cm line listed on this product page would probably be too long to make work.Details for my particular application follow. On my DR, the fitting at the rear caliper looked like a 90 degree turn. Once I removed the old line, I realized it was more like 80 degrees. While I might have been able to attach the line as is by removing the caliper, I instead decided to try to bend it. SInce the fitting extends over an inch into the line, I felt relatively comfortable clamped the fitting in a vice, and put a pipe over the line and fitting. I very slowly and gently was able to straighten the bend enough to allow installation without pulling the caliper. I threaded a bolt through the fitting and snugged it down, then clamped on the head and nut on that bolt so I did not clamp directly on the sealing surface of the fitting. Once adjusted, it was a very tight fit (as was the original when I removed it.) On the front end of the line the fitting angle looked to be a perfect match, but was twisted about 45 degrees from where it ideally should have been. I was able to loop the line 180 (as was the original) and the necessary twist seemed to spread out OK though the line as it looped. The twist made threading the bolt in to the master cylinder a bit tricky as it kept wanting to spin out of alignment from the torque. Once I got to bolt started, it tightened up fine. I am a bit concerned about the extra stress in the line over time so I'll keep a close eye on it.Overall it's a great deal for the price (cheap enough for me to take a risk on fitment anyway). The rear brake lever is definetity much firmer now (noticeable even when I was bleeding the brake with my hand). It's hard to match up these universal lines to a specific application, but as long as you understand the steps I have outlined, I'd recommend this one for the DR 650 as a cheap solution. It definitely required some extra work to install over a perfect fit replacement.

I ordered the wrong cable but because I oversized it, I made it work anyway. Easy to install, banjos are the right size and have no angle on the flats so it actually engages correctly. Thin line made threading it through all the loops and bells and whistles easy, but you'll have to find a solution to keep it from flopping around inside the metal loops.
