If you're having problems going through IPR valves and are running a aftermarket wix filter, that's your problem. Get the wix out (even if you're not having problems) and go with the factory motorcraft filter. Yes the wix is just as good as the motorcraft filtration wise but it doesn't fit the canister correctly and will allow oil to bypass unfiltered(there is a Ford TSB about this problem)

Appears to be OEM. I used to KNM filter with it. Fit great. Would recommend.

I had a substantial oil leak in my 2008 Ford F250 Super Duty 6.4 diesel truck. The truck has less than 69,000 miles and is primarily used to pull our 37’ 5th wheel RV. I installed the oil cap and torqued the cap. I drove about 80 miles pulling the RV. When we arrived, I couldn’t find any traces of oil leaking. I will continue to check for future leaks.

Made the mistake of having my oil changed at a shop and they replaced my cap and filter with an aftermarket. Then I read all the forums about not using aftermarket filters. So I am buying this to replace the one lost at the shop.

I received an authentic Motorcraft oil filter cap. If you own a 6.0 Powerstroke, it is absolutely imperative to use only authentic Motorcraft caps for the oil and fuel filter housings. Other "will fit" caps may seem the same but due to infringement laws, they cannot exactly copy the OEM parts. This leads to more oil going through the filter bypass which goes back into the engine without being filtered. On the 6.0 Powerstroke (and to a lesser degree the 7.3 Powerstroke), clean oil is directly correlated to engine longevity due to the high pressure oil pump (HPOP) system and fuel injection system, both of which are very sensitive to dirty oil.Bottom line is that do not cheap out on filters and their associated caps on the 6.0 Powerstroke! Also, this cap is the correct cap for the horizontal fuel conditioning module (HFCM) on the driver's side frame rail.

Works fine with Motorcraft filters. Beware of the other kind that is real tall, your filter won't work.

I have an 03 f350 with a 6.0, my hfcm cap(the fuel filter/pump assembly on drivers side frame rail) got damaged plastic cap nut rounded off and i needed a new one. I looked all over the net for a p/n and nothing came up. finally i stumbled across a forum that said the oil filter cap is the same as the hfcm cap on the 6.0. So i bought it, it fit good threaded on fine, no leaks, the 40 nm(18.5 ft/lb) torque spec on the cap matched the instructions for fuel filter installation, conveniently same as oil filter cap spec. It comes with a black oring for the oil filter assembly would probably work fine, but if you have it apart you probably are swapping filters anyway so they will come with the correct green oring. I would caution to either buy the oil filter socket for these caps or at least use a six point socket(36mm), don't use the 12 points since they will gradually round off the plastic.
