If you have an order ranger, explorer, F-series, you will need one of these at some point. Always go Motorcraft. These were 100% correct door switch replacement.

This did not fit in my 2004 Ford Explorer (driver side)

I bought this because it says it will work on my 2004 Navigator front driver door. This DOES NOT work on the driver side door of that car. The part you are looking for is Motorcraft SW6032 if you have a 2004 Lincoln Navigator and you are trying to replace the Driver Side Door Jamb Switch.

I have a 2000 Mazda B3000, and this is the switch used in both front doors and in both rear doors. I had to remove the latch assemblies in the front doors to replace the switch; there may be another way, but there's a tab you have to pry up before you can rotate it 90 degrees to remove it. The switch is located on the bottom latch on the back doors; after removing the panel it is easy to remove the three Torx screws, remove the latch assembly, and again pry up on the tab to rotate the switch out. A lot cheaper than Mazda, and besides, they show different switches for left and right, but they're not.

I was constantly getting the "door ajar" light on in my 2004 Ford Explorer, when (obviously) there was no door ajar. I attempted to lubricate all door locks with WD-40, and that was no help. This switch is a replacement for the door ajar sensor on your tailgate GLASS, not the tailgate itself. It may have other applications, but that is what I used it for. You can tell if your "door ajar" light is related to the tailgate glass switch if your rear windshield wiper suddenly stops working at the same time your door ajar light appears. The computer believes that the glass is open, and therefore disables the motor which powers the rear glass wiper.Replacement is pretty easy. It took me a couple of hours. All you need is a socket set, a philips and flat head screwdriver, and a bit of patience. With the liftgate open and the glass popped, remove the liftgate handle, the plastic retaining screws, and then use a screwdriver to pry the trim away from the liftgate. It's the large plastic piece that surrounds the entire interior of the liftgate. The switch is mounted to the bottom of the lock mechanism, inside the liftgate. Therefore, you need to slide the lock assembly out the opening in the liftgate. You have three mounting bolts to loosen the lock assembly, and then you need to loosen the mounting plate below in order to slide out the lock assembly and remove the switch. It's pretty simple and just takes a little bit of patience. Installation is the reverse of removal.Good luck!
