I can only speak for a 2008 Ford edge. I used this to locate which sensors were bad. Then used it to retrain them all after I replace the sensors. Worked perfect

It worked well with the first set of sensors I ordered with it. After 1 of the four sensors went out later it wouldn’t work on the one sensor replaced but still worked on the other 3. I went to a tire shop and they were able to set the replacement sensor though.

Bought this product as I installed new TPMS sensors in my Focus RS (2016-2018 years). Worked like a charm. PLEASE UNDERSTAND there are in fact TWO different ways to learn/re-learn your tire pressures. If you just installed new ones and need to sync them to the car for the first time, here is the process:(DO NOT DEPRESS THE CLUTCH TO START CAR!)-Turn ignition to the OFF position-Press and release brake pedal once-Quickly turn the ignition from OFF to RUN/ACC (engine OFF) three times, stop in RUN position-Press and release brake pedal once-Turn ignition OFF-Quickly turn the ignition from OFF to RUN/ACC (engine OFF) three times, stop in RUN positionNOTE: All the steps for this process must be performed within 10 seconds. A single horn chirp will indicate the relearn mode is active. After you hear the chirp, the dash should read something like “Tire pressure training mode” and will prompt you to start at the left front tire (LF), then the RF, then the RR, and lastly the LR. Hold the clicker aimed directly at the tire stem as close as possible (or next to the tire stem where the tire meets the rim) as that is where the sensor is located. After each tire is “learned”, it will chirp one time and tell you to move to the next tire which again, starts at driver’s side front tire and goes clockwise around the car.The second possible way to RE-LEARN sensors if you have the same ones installed but changed tires or did a tire rotation is:(DO NOT DEPRESS THE CLUTCH TO START CAR!)-Turn ignition to RUN/ACC position (engine OFF)-Quickly press the hazard button 6 times-The horn will chirp one time and the process will be exactly the same by going to LF tire and worming clockwise with the clicker. This is also the GENUINE MOTORCRAFT CLICKER, not some garbage one. Worked great for me!

Instructions for my truck- turn to on( full accsory) turn hazards on and off 3 times (leave on full accsory mode). Cluster will say recalibration mode and horn will chirp of you have a lower trim. Order of wheels are left front, left right, back right, back left. Hold the device right in right of the valve stem and press and hold until the horn chirps. After all are done, turn vehicle to off and you're good to start up and drive. If hazards didn't do it, turn the vehicle from off to on (accsory mode) 3 times ending in on.Cheap and easy to use. I prefer to do my own maintenance and repair on my truck for a few reasons. 1) I am very ocd about how things get done, when I do it myself, I know it is done right, and no corners are cut. Shops will over torque your lug nuts or not torque them at all... 2) I love working on cars and building/fixing stuff. I used to work in shops, construction, and grew up working with my uncle who was a handyman. I ride a desk for a living cause I make more money so drinking a few cold ones, listening to music, and yelling at my dog to back up is a great afternoon to me. Plus I get away from wife for a little lol. 3) it saves money. It's very annoying that all auto manufacturers are building these new cars and trucks to force people to either take it to dealership or shop to do the simplest tasks like a tire rotation, rear brakes (electronic parking brake needs be put in maintenance mode before removing calipers). It s a smart business move but thanks to the internet, YouTube, and products like this you can still do most things yourself. Per my manual, oil change every 7.5k I think ( I do 5k), of synthetic blend (I use full of course) and a tiree rotation. With 9 quarts of full synthetic oil, and the tire rotation the price is ridiculously high ($100+). I can do it at home for $40 give or take.

I didnt even bother researching the instructions. The comments section of Amazon has the answer. I used the below procedure and I got it finished up on the first try. It took maybe 1 minute total.1. Make sure all tires are inflated to the vehicle’s recommended inflation pressures (found in the owner’s manual on the door placard).2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF then press and release the brake pedal.3. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN (engine OFF) 3 times, ending in the RUNposition. Do this within 10 seconds.4. Press and release the brake pedal.5. Turn the ignition switch back to OFF.6. Turn the ignition switch from OFF to RUN (engine OFF) 3 times, ending in the RUNposition. Do this within 10 seconds.7. The horn should sound letting you know the vehicle has entered into TPMS relearn mode8. Place the VT10’s antenna on the sidewall of the driver’s side front tire in the location ofthe valve stem.9. Hold the left button of the VT10 triggering tool for 5-10 seconds. The vehicle’s horn willsound letting you know the sensor has been learned.10. Once the horn sounds, move on to the passenger side front tire and repeat the process. Each tire should only take 30 seconds or less. (it took 2 seconds for me)11. After the passenger side front tire has been learned, continue on to the passenger siderear tire and finishing with the driver’s side rear tire.12. You may now turn the ignition to OFF. If the horn does not sound, the sensors were learnedsuccessfully. If the horn sounds twice, then the process must be repeated because there was a malfunction. As soon as I hit the button near the tire the horn honked. I was surprised how quickly it worked. When I finished, everything was working perfectly. I love when a simple device makes a job easier and cheaper!

I did not receive this item for a day, so I noticed the TPMS light went out all by itself after going for a drive the day after changing back to the summer tires from winter tires. Tried the item anyway, since I assume that the car recognised the original tires but would not know they are now rotated. For our car, which has a pushbutton start, the method is as follows. Push and release the brake. Turn the car on with a two second push of the start button and turn off the car with a quick push twice.. Turn on the car a third time with a two second push. Push and release the brake. Turn the car off with a quick push. Turn the car on with a two second push of the start button and turn off the car with a quick push two more times. Turn on the car a sixth time with a two second push. The horn should honk to indicate train mode and the dash will tell you what tire to do (left front first). Hold this handy gadget against the wheel at the valve stem and push the button. The light on the tool will illuminate and a few seconds later the horn honks. Proceed following the order displayed on the dash until all four tires are done (right front, right rear, left rear). I think the car then turned itself off, but I could have been mistaken. Note this item works without needing to open the original packaging, so if it does not work it would be easy to return. This item came in an sealed Motocraft plastic bag. I tossed it in the back with the tire repair kit. I did this with the winter tires hanging right above the car, so it didn't seem to care much about other nearby sensors.
