DO NOT BUYI bought this to replace my 525 chain. This tool did help remove the old chain. That said, I made it easy by grinding the rivet prior to using the tool. Next came the riveting of the new chain. To say this tool is a piece of crap would be an understatement. The first issue was that the riveting head completely lost its shape. It deformed completely before actually riveting the chain. Not only that, but the piece that supports the other side of the pin was far too soft.It was so bad that the chain pin pushed into the metal that was supposed to support it. This caused my master link to become damaged and my new $200 chain to be all marked up.What a terrible tool!

Has everything needed. Be sure to study available YouTube videos on chain swaps to use this tool correctly. Glad to have it

Not normally a guy to leave a bad review, but this is a single use tool for the most part. It says it's up to the task for a 530 chain. It's up for that task barely once. The main unit survived fine, but the inserts and attachments bent or broke or were crushed. Spend the money on American products if you need to use it more than once.

For a quick fix, it worked out. Unfortunately, I didn’t use it to break the chain. But it feels very solid and I’m sure it can handle the job. However, as far as riveting goes? The “bearing” used at the flaring surface deformed and did not do a great job of flaring the master link hollow studs. It took a significant amount of force to get the job done but that damaged the tool. The finish was rough with metal grit felt and heard in the threads.Only has instructions for the breaking procedure. The rivet feature can only really be used by someone familiar with the riveting process.Erring on the side of caution (since I didn’t use the breaker feature) I’d hate to give this three stars only to later find out the breaker feature is also not great.I will update this to three stars if/when I use the chain breaker feature and it actually works.

The overall quality of the tool and pieces is good, not great. Specifically the driver has a bit of play, and that can make it challenging to line everything up consistently. That said, the rest of the kit is top notch, the pins are strong and well made, no sharp edges and drive well. The tool is easy to use, even with some slight wobbly on occasion. The case is well made, keeps everything perfectly organized and is quite compact. Not compact enough to keep on the bike, but you could easily add the parts you need to a quick go bag and rest easy knowing the rest of the kit will stay in place and we'll organized.Overall, I think anyone who wants a decent set to do chain maintenance would be happy enough with this set, but I do think there's better sets out there, of you're willing to pay.
