This sidestand foot enlarger fit perfectly on my ‘02 Goldwing. No filing or machining was needed. The item is high quality construction. Tools for installation are included. I have stand enlargers that work well on two other Honda motorcycles However, it’s application on this model year GL1800 motorcycle has it’s problems. First, the stock sidestand on the bike does not sit completely flat on a hard surface, even with rear suspension at it’s highest setting. Adding the enlarged pad effectively lengthens the stand and makes this angle mismatch worse, so the sidestand contacts the surface only on it’s heel. I can live with that, but a worse problem is that the enlarger contacts the rider’s boot when underway, causing the sidestand to be deployed slightly off it’s stop while riding. I had this same problem with a different stand pad enlarger I had previously tried. It’s not that the stand enlarger are poorly designed, rather it is that the motorcycle does not accommodate this modification well. As a result, I was happier without this product in place, so I removed it. I will stick to using portable plastic stand pads. I give the product four stars for it being well made, but whether it is a good addition to the motorcycle is something the owner will need to decide.

Attractive black coating and stainless steel fasteners.Easy to install if motorcycle is on center stand, little harder if it is on side stand like I did !There is a set screw on lower piece that is not referenced in Amazon add, it retains pad from slipping out of groove. When side stand is in raised position there is no interference with the motorcycle.

Easy to install and seems very secure. Offers peace of mind when parking the Goldwing on various ground conditions. Looks great and works great. These machines weigh almost 1,000 lbs, so a larger footprint side stand configuration is cheap insurance to avoid having to pick the bike up because the side stand sank into the ground surface !

I ordered this kickstand pad for my 2008 Honda Goldwing. It looks like a quality, CNC machined Aluminum unit that compliments the look of my motorcycle. The included installation hardware has factory applied locking compound on the main screws, and includes an Allen grub screw to secure the pad, at the open rear portion of the pad. Installation was very easy, even without instructions, and should take about 5 minutes. My actual time was about 15 minutes total, as I had to file off a portion of the casting seam on the bottom of the foot of my kickstand. The seam caused the pad to rock and wouldn't allow the top plate of the pad assembly to bolt down flush to the base. I didn't have to file the bottom of the foot completely flat to get it to bolt up properly, and I would advise against doing so. If, it was completely flat, the pad might not be solidly attached to the kickstand, causing looseness and rattling. I used a file and trial method until I could just about squeeze the top plate to the base of the pad assembly with my fingers. Once the screws were installed and tightened the pad was solidly mounted to the kickstand, and I was able to tighten the grub screw in the rear. This kickstand pad will be especially useful for me, as I live in the desert Southwest, and motorcycles have a tendency to sink the kickstand into the asphalt during the heat of the summer, causing a bike to topple over. This is even more of an issue for a big, heavy motorcycle like my Goldwing. It will also make parking on grass, dirt, or sand more secure. The only thing I would have added to this kickstand pad is some rubber, or Polymer material to the base of the pad. I'm not sure how well the anodizing on the bottom of the base will fare against concrete, or asphalt after some use. In the up position the bottom of the base is only slightly exposed, so it may not even be an issue. I give this kickstand pad 5 stars.
