Placed this 80 yds from house for wildlife viewing. Nylon strap was long enough to wrap around large oak. Also, the double troughs to eat from was perfect for 2 deer to feed at the same time. Noticed when 1st filling; 1 doesn't hold 50lbs, about 40, 2 the lower section wasn't squared to tree, so weight pulled bottom of feeder at a slant back toward tree trunk, corn at this steeper angle would avalanche out whenever a squirrel touched it. Clamped 16 inches of pvc underneath to hold bottom out from tree which helped. Then strap began to tear out of strap holding slots so I placed bookshelf braces underneath. Then squirrels chewed holes in the lid. I plastic welded lid and added screen in the patch to slow squirrels. Then squirrels chewed the nylon strap so feeder fell off bookshelf braces. Replaced strap with thick cable. Then squirrels chewed large hole in lower back of feeder which was now 3 inches out from tree so that feeder would be vertically straight as needed.A previous black plastic Moultrie feeder got chewed some by squirrels but survived 3 yrs. This 1 didn't last a full year though the double trough is a great idea. I've replaced it with a metal feeder and use stainless steel zip ties to hold it.

I read reviews that said the holes were too small. I am not sure what they are talking about because when I fill them the opening is all the way down, and there is no little hole. I have some that pour all the way thru and spill onto the ground. I don't mind because the squirrels enjoy the spillover and leave the bird feeders alone. Each one will hold a lot of corn. I have 2 of them. I posted a photo I took the other day of one of the momma deer and her baby I have been watching grow.

These feeders check most of my boxes, there light easy to deploy in the field and hold enough feed . The price is a little high due to its just cheap plastic and everything out there with teeth is going to chew on this feeder and will have to be replaced at some point due criter wear. But otherwise great product

I have used this model feeder for years and have bought several afterbeing completely happy with my experience using them. The are easy to install on a tree and easy to fill and requires no maintenance. It does the job and is relatively inexpensive compared to other feeders.

These are actually pretty great for a cheap hang on feeder! We have 1 at about 18" off the ground filled with corn that hogs have worked over like crazy. A group that was about 25+ will hit it and tear it up!! The feeder is fully in tact! Other critters climb up on the tree and try to get into it and nothing, not even close. We do keep a bungy cord over the top just in case though.I put another one out to test deer protein, and that was a flop. 6 cows on the place decided to start spending time down "in the bottom" in the woods and they found the feeder within 24 hours. The 6 spent 14 hours (per camera) cleaning it out. It takes a little work with their big snouts. As hard as they worked it over, it's just fine. What I did find out on the 3rd attempt (cows found it too, deep in the woods) deer may not pay it any attention. It was said that deer won't eat out of a feeder without being pets or being raised with them out on a regular basis. From what I saw, that's true. For $20 though, these are killer if a hang-on feeder is what you need.

The deer have been loving this! The feed will get a little wet in the tray, I just knock the wet stuff out every couple days and let dry fall. Works great! My ONLY complaint is the lid is a little rough to get seated properly, but it does fit and fits tight.

Well made little unit. Not too big but holds a LOT!I love all wildlife and enjoy supporting their diets when food is sparse. In addition, deer love Hosta leaves and as such they leave my hosta gardens as gardens full of green sticks (no leaves!!). By giving them this feeder it keeps them happy and they leave my hosta alone. :) The squirrels, birds and raccoons enjoy a little extra treat as well and this becomes a multi-purpose wildlife supplement feeder.Well made with sturdy plastic; hooks onto the tree perfectly without damaging the trunk.I’m very pleased with it overall. This was the Mother’s Day present I requested from the hubby this year and I couldn’t be happier. It a gift that keeps on giving back- to me, as well as all my critters. :)The squirrels have chewed a wee hole in the lid (typical and understandable!), but not a big deal. It’s on a Spruce tree and the canopy covers the hopper from pretty much all but the most torrential driving rain anyhow. I popped a wee price of duct tape on it and it’s been fine. :)Highly recommended by this wildlife loving gal. :)

For the price that I payed I honestly have no complaints. The straps are strong and hold the feeder in place well. As others have mentioned, the lid doesn’t always fit great but it is usable with a little more effort. I use two to feed my flock of chickens, ducks and turkeys. If I do not have it leveled correctly they can empty it onto the ground in minutes.

The pic above speaks for itself. Regardless of how many start I might give the feeder, the deer will say it deserves 5! :)My only comment is to read the very basic instructions first, which say that you should mount the feeder with the top cover in place. If you don't, the cover likely won't fit after mounting. That isn't a big deal, I simply remounted it the first time it was empty and all was good.
