This pelvic model is great for studying. It can be put together and displayed or disassembled for learning. Well made model.

I will say that I was slightly intimidated when I pulled this pelvis out of the box. I thought that it would be already put together and ready… but it comes together really easily and looks so cool on my bookshelf! There are so many uses… a doctor’s office, classroom, a bookshelf, whatever. it’s definitely a conversation starter, too! It is sturdy and came together nicely! I love it!

This is much smaller than a human pelvis, and not sure how anatomically accurate it is, but it looks great in my cabinet of curiosities. Great quality for the price.

It's small but you can see that in the picture. The pelvis is held together with elastic and these interesting locking mechanisms. Easy to use and easy to figure out. There are no directions on which way to put the legs on so it's easy to get them on backwards. Refer to an anatomy chart. One star off because the coccyx is not articulated. So it's hard to visualize the coccyx getting out of the way during childbirth.

This took some assembly; the femurs were detached and had to be attached using bungee cord and cord locks. No big deal, and the bungee cord is terminated with a cap that fits into the hip. Only problem is that I'm a biologist, but not an anatomist, and I'm still not sure if I got the right and left femurs on the right sides. Looks like a useful teaching tool.

this is a great gift for a student wanting to learn more about the bones and anatomy within our hips and pelvis. you can take the pelvis and hip bones and detach them from the spine and then put them back together again. its a great way to study all the indentions and shapes of the bones from front to back as well as seeing how they can move as a full unit.

I ordered this product for use with my high school students in forensic science class. In forensics, the pelvis is an important indicator of sex. The model I received is inconsistent, with the several characteristics of a male pelvis:Male Femaletall Obturator foramen shorter, wide Obturator foramenAcute angle at the pubic symphysis obtuse angle at the pubic symphysisCoccyx fixed & curls anteriorly coccyx flexible and does not block pelvic openingWhile the bones and the flexible joints are useful for teaching anatomy, this is not useful for demonstrating the differences between male and female. The quality of the model is well done and the detailed textures are impressive. The illium is consistent with the female pelvis but many of the features indicate male (listed above).
