This was pretty easy to install. It was pretty easy to program. Had to do a bit of deductive reasoning along the way. The biggest issue was all the extra wires that weren't used. The instructions basically just act like they don't exist so I didn't want to mess something up on my car by not connecting them. Wife is pleased though and all's well that ends well.

Took about two hours to install from start to finish for my 2019 push-to-start equinox. The instructions are good enough, but could be improved to clear things up a bit more. There are like a dozen retaining clips holding the plastic panel to the center console that are pretty easy to disconnect from, but wiggling the panel out (and back in!) took the passenger seat pushed all the way back and a bit of finagling. No hood switch was needed for me, but be sure to make the only required connection between the two wires in the harness before starting the programming! (For my instructions it was the light blue wire and the light blue/black wire). The harness has a bunch of wire leads not connected to anything, this is where you'll find one of the wires, and the other one is coming from that same connector, but in the other bundle actually going somewhere. I spliced the wires and soldered them (and put heat shrink on), but a wire nut would work too, just don't leave exposed wire. I also chopped the remaining unused wires off and taped them up to make things less cluttered. If you do happen to go through the programming steps without connecting those wires, the module will constantly blink blue regardless of the lock button state and the remote start wont work. And then you may notice that if you try to restart the programming procedure, it lights up two LEDs like an error code and doesn't continue as it should. I got around this by restarting the programming steps again, but selecting the red LED mode instead of yellow during the color cycle (step 2) AND then pressing the programming button 5 times. I'm assuming this is some sort of reset, not totally sure, it was a guess but it worked after that so do with that info what you will.Other than that, you will need internet to download AND USE the GUI software properly. I downloaded it to my laptop, and then took it to my car where I didn't have wifi, so there was some walking back and forth involved. It says 3x press of the lock button a second apart will start it, but I found that you have to press the lock button once to make sure the doors are locked, and then press the lock button three times about a second apart to engage the remote start. Also, you should press unlock with the key fob as you are going out to your car instead of using the button on the door handle when within proximity, because the engine will shut off when you get in instead of staying running when the key fob is used.

No splicing wires needed for a push button start equinox. The included wire harness makes all the connections you need. First time installing one and it took longer to read the instructions then to install it.
