This is a good charge controller. I'm really satisfied with it, it hasn't faltered since I got it, and it has done a really good job charging a marine/RV battery. 10/10, would buy again. Size was the only real issue at first, but I adapted for it.

I have been using this product with 3 12v large solar panels and a 100ah battery to charge all of my devices from iPad to vacuum cleaner batteries (AC inverter). It works flawlessly.

Before I found this controller I did a ton of research on them. You can't do any better than this unit, it's very well built and feature rich to boot. It pretty much saved my life during a hurricane and power outages too. If you're looking at others, don't waste your time....this is the best deal for what you get.

I chose this particular solar charge controller because it was reasonably priced, handled LiFePo4 batteries, and it was an Amazon Choice. I was not pleased with my purchase. I have returned it.After setting up the solar system with new batteries and a new charge controller it did not work. I thought I may not have connected everything properly, so I went through the steps again. The solar system was properly connected but the controller wasn't delivering input or output. I reset the controller to factory settings and reconnected everything. Still no success. The most frustrating part was trying to interpret the instructions. The instructions were poorly translated into English. Sentences were incomplete, and, or the wording was incomprehensible. If I had not had experience wiring solar systems, the instructions would have been confusing and frustrating at the very least. Also, the charge controller is made of lightweight plastic components. It doesn't suggest quality or endurance.

Okay, some of the reviews are slightly critical. I think they may have missed some information and will try to address that here. The physical size of the controller is 7-1/2" high x 7-1/4" wide x 3" deep.Digital display is 2-1/4" wide x 1-1/8" high. There are four setup buttons on the front face and you can do everything from there. There are two cooling fans that sit halfway over the internal components and halfway over the external heatsink. There are two USB ports for your use.The lower front cover flips down to access the wire installation connectors. There are 4 keyhole slot on the back mount so you can put some screws on a wall or mounting surface and attach the controller to it.There are some reviews that say this is for 12 volt batteries only. This is incorrect. You can set the controller for 24 VDC or it can do it automatically. It is a 12/24 volt controller. The controller is a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) type. These are far more efficient in charging than Pulse Wave Modulation (PWM) controllers. You'll pay a little more but you'll have greater charging efficiency so your batteries will get charged quicker.*This controller has an IP21 waterproof rating. That means you should mount this out of the rain and in a dry area.**Not sure of longevity because we can't test for five years and report back. However the design looks right, the case is large enough for heat dissipation (An electronics killer) has cooling fans and a heatsink, and in general looks like a very good controller.
