I was a bit leary of ordering this as some of the reviews were concerning. In particular, the screen going dead rather quickly. So far this is working well and the screen on mine seems fine for now. I'm testing it out with my small solar array to charge up some 12v lifepo4 batteries and so far this unit is working well. I'll update this review if I run in to any issues or the screen fails like is mentioned in some other reviews.

The PowMr POW-M45-PRO Solar Charge Controller has many features. It auto-detects the battery voltage when setting it up. The display is big, colorful, and monitors and reports the essential points of your solar charging system. There are many options to easily change parameters within your system components so it performs well. The sturdy, robust case is very nice looking and the instruction manual is easy to read. Being an MPPT controller gives the owner an advantage over PWM controllers as it is much more efficient in charging. There are many built-in protections including: Solar panel short-circuit, Solar panel over-current, Load over-current, Solar panel reverse polarity protection, Battery reverse polarity protection, and controller overheat protection. These safety features make setup and operation easy. You can even set user defined parameters for the controller for those systems that may be wired non-conventionally. This controller is a workhorse! On a scale of ONE to TEN... PowMr is an ELEVEN! Highly recommended!

This PowMr MPPT Solar Charge Controller, 45Amp, 12V/24V is inexpensive for a true MPPT Solar Charge Controller. While the product description and even the box is confusing as to its specifications, it appears that the 45 Amp version can handle a Voc This unit falls short when it comes to monitoring. You can see the current PV Voltage and Watts and you can monitor the current battery Voltage and Charging Current but there is no way to track the total amount of power generated over the day. If you really want to monitor the power generated, you will need to add external monitoring devices.Additionally, setup requires the manual which shows the step that corresponds to each button press. The display does not always show enough information for you to know what value you are changing if you lose your place in the menu chain. The built-in battery settings were somewhat confusing because some are doubled when you have a 24 Volt system and others refer to enough lithium cells to be 24 Volts without doubling.I don't know why the manufacturer chose to identify this unit as “PRO” since it provides only the minimum of settings and features. Nevertheless, for the price, it can be a good backup or supplemental charge controller.

This arrived promptly but it didn't take me a couple weeks to get everything installed. Is that there's have noted, the display can be a bit dim, but it's definitely readable, and everything works as it should! I'm a bit surprised and grateful all at the same time. Bottom line, for the price, this is a great value, as long as it continues to hold up. Will update if anything changes, but am both confident and hopeful.

It does it job. As always, time will tell.I would buy it again. The price was really reasonable for the Mppt controller.UPDATE: after a month it stopped accepting charge from the panels...did the prerequisites, swapped controllers to confirm and yep, controller.Returned...Amazon was great. And went another direction.2 stars for the customer support from Amazon.
