The original equipment bolts provide 7mm of "bite" into the aluminum engine head. These much shorter (I guess to save production costs) bolts provide only 4.5mm of bite. Why use them (instead of an external tooth lock washer with the OE bolt) and risk stripping the threads in your engine head. This caveat applies to the Chrysler 5.7, 6.1, 6.4L engines (I don't know about the other applications).

at first glance they looked great, installed just fine. Rechecked torque after heatcycles. No problems.First year, no issues. No backing out. All great.Now while racing my car one of the heads of one bolts decided to pop off.After many a drill bit and lots of fun I managed to get it out...what a nightmare.Steel was good, casting was not. Examining the break you can see how cheap it is...used to love mr.gasket...

So I had purchased a set of these locking bolts to install with a set of JBA shorty headers on my 02 Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler 4.7L. Mr. Gasket doesn't list these bolts as compatible with the 4.7, but they DO fit and worked excellent for my application. The bolts have almost a serrated washer style head which dig into the manifolds/headers and hold them nice and tight. After having these installed for a few thousand miles, I haven't had to tighten them once. 99% of header bolts have to be re-tightened when installing new headers. These basically eliminate the need for that. $ well spent in my eyes!
