Worked well to extend bbq line. Nice to have all the quick connects in the kit. You will need some gas sealant. Cheap at the depot.

Emailed the manufacturer with pictures of our BBQ gas line before buying this to see if it's what we needed to connect our BBQ to the gas line at our new house. Turns out this does not fit at all. Very disappointed

It was extremely difficult to find a gas extension cable for my Webber BBQ because of their quick connect system. This cable ended up working perfectly. Time will tell about longevity, but so far it's holding up great.

Hooked up my gas smoker to my propane line at the house. Works great. I did have to go to the hardware store and buy some adapters to get from the connection on the smoker to the connection on the hose. At the other end, the line plugged straight in.As a side note... if you are connecting to a smoker, you will need a way to adjust the gas flow to adjust the flame strength. Typically, that adjusting valve is on the line that goes to the small propane tank. When you remove the small tank and go to the house propane, you lose that adapter. Trying to adjust the flame with the valve at the wall won't work. It isn't sensitive enough and didn't work. I purchased an adjustable adapter from another supplier and put it between this 12' propane line and the smoker. The brass adapter connections are 1/4" and the hardware store had what I needed. The variable adapter said the adjustment was from 0 to 20 lbs and it works fine. I can adjust the flame properly and all is good.

Too expensive and too short.

I used this hose to convert my grill to natural gas. The quick-connect is smooth and works great, with the added bonus of only allowing the gas to flow after the male end is inserted and locked. This is a great feature that will prevent gas from leaking out in case someone forgets to shut off the valve on the gas line. The only hiccup I ran in to was connecting the female quick-connect to the house gas line. The plumbers installed a 1/2" gas line with a shutoff on the house. The quick-connect is 3/8". I had to purchase a 1/2" male to 3/8" female brass reducer, along with a 3/8" nipple to connect everything. This added a few inches to the gas line stub and about $8 extra to the price. Try to get your plumber to install a 1/2"x3/8" shutoff valve and save yourself some money and time. The flare fitting at the other end fit perfectly to the fitting on the grill with no adapters needed.

This is my second one of these hoses, having bought the first one years ago.One end is a 3/8" flare fitting (the side that has the rotating collar) -- the very best for sealing natural gas or propane. The other end of the hose has a permanently attached male quick disconnect fitting. This quick disconnect is a very clever device. The half that connects to the source has a 3/8" female FIP tapered pipe thread. This will need some teflon sealing tape to install. You attach this part to the source valve. It also has an additional automatic one-way valve inside such that if you pull back the quick-disconnect collar and release the hose, gas immediately stops flowing at the quick-disconnect.The quick-disconnect also comes with a brass nipple with 3/8" pipe threads on one side and 3/8" flare on the other.Lots of stuff for a good price. The hose covering is weatherproof and rugged. Will last for years. Also comes with durable, captured silicon rubber plugs to keep dirt and spiders out of both the quick-disconnect on source side and the male fitting on the hose end. Thus, if you permanently connect the hose to say, an infrared patio heater, and want to put it away, you can disconnect and protect the loose hose end from dirt and damage.

Although the description is not quite right and the pictures do not adequately show the fittings, everything supplied worked perfectly for my need. I wanted to extend a Mr. Heater hose that had a female quick connect that fit a male quick connect on a Big Buddy heater. The male end of THIS hose fits my former Mr Heater female quick connect. The female quick connect on THIS hose is a perfect fit for the male quick connect on the Big Buddy. One end of THIS hose has a 3/8" FEMALE flare nut. Also supplied is a MALE flare to 3/8" MPT adapter that fits the female quick connect supplied in THIS hose set and the 3/8" FPT on the quick connect. The end result - a 12 foot hose that extends from my former quick connect to the quick connect on the Big Buddy heater. There is only one small detail - the male quick connect of THIS hose does not have an automatic shut off when you disconnect it. Since the gas flow is stopped by the female quick connect coming from the gas source, this is not a problem. Just be sure to place the provided rubber cap onto the male quick connect fitting after you disconnect it. That will keep the gas in the hose (keep it primed) and will protect the fitting from damage. The description shows this hose for natural gas AND propane but the hose is only marked for natural gas, maximum pressure 1/2 Lb. For a low pressure hose, both gases operate at less than 1/2 Lb. Both gases are hydrocarbons and come from the same source (crude oil or gas wells) so I can't see this as a concern. To be "picky", a device used for propane should be marked as such.

This appears to be excellent quality, however the hose has printed on it.. for use with Natural gas. And even though the amazon ad says natural gas and propane, the actual hose says for use with natural gas with no mention of propane.I opted for family and property safety and returned item.I deducted one star for the amazon ad being misleading altho very likely unintentional.

I just needed a quick disconnect hose for my large burner (turkey fryer essentially, although I brew beer using it). I already had one for my grill. Everything in my system used and needed 3/8" pipe thread. This hose totally delivered. Nothing fancy, but solid construction, sturdy components, and plenty of length at 12 ft. Although one size was the 3/8" flare female (the side opposite the quick connect), it came with a coupler that converted the flare to pipe thread. So everything fit without sending me to the hardware store and now my problems are solved.
