Reviews state this fits the classic door jig. It does not. It will work in a drill with the jig but not the way the normal process works with the jig set up. It will cut the hole but if you are looking for a replacement 2-1/8" boring bit to process doors I would look for another replacement bit. Also the head of this bit is in 2 pieces, it is held on to the shaft with a set screw. I have my original bit and will have this rebuilt. will cost a little more but worth it.

It is difficult to prevent tear out on the outfeed side of the door.

This bit fits my classic engineering jig perfectly. It's nice and sharp, and bores quickly. The center of the bit allows for material to clear, which means the bit has not clogged.

I read a review by someone who purchased a Templaco Bore Master kit with HHS bits who suggested picking up the carbide bits if you plan to do a lot of doors. Not that I'm hanging 100's a month, but I wanted to have something I could depend on every time I did.The first door for it to be tested on was a metal clad door. Easy enough, and no damage to anything. I turned around and used it on a solid core wood door the next day. Again - nothing but chips. It cut through both without a problem.For the money, you can't beat the investment. Glad I picked up the carbide bits.
