I ordered this expecting it to be made of anything but foam. It is glued onto the plastic housing, not well, mind you. I would not order this quality of product again.

The material isn't as premium as the OEM Material, but at 3x to 5x the cost, it's absolutely perfect for what it needs to do :)

This took almost a month to get to me as shipping kept getting delayed. It is also subpar- actually a crap product as others have alluded. I think most people buy this because the plastic retainer on their boot broke and you can’t find just that clip anywhere. Volvo wants close to $200 to replace the boot that the clip comes attached to. So, what I used this for (and I’m quite satisfied) is to pull the glue away from the plastic, broken piece in your car and then do the same with this one you bought for cheap, and without even removing your shifter, you can hot glue this plastic piece back on the OEM boot, and you are as good as new for about $12!!

The quality of this shift boot is nothing close to the OEM one, but it's also 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a new OEM one. The material used on the MTC boot feels plasticky and is almost texture-less, at least compared to the OEM version. In short, the MTC boot just feels cheap, and I'm talking from an absolute perspective (not relative to anything else).The MTC boot also uses what looks like regular hot glue to hold the fabric material to the plastic frame, whereas with the OEM boot, the fabric is stamped/pressed on to its frame. Having said that, the glue used on the MTC boot is pretty ineffectual in keeping the fabric attached to the plastic frame. At the same time though, this is a relatively easy DIY fix using some stronger adhesive.So in short, the price is right, and a cheap aftermarket boot still looks better than a worn-out OEM one or one with a broken plastic frame that won't seat correctly. If you plan to keep your P1 for a long time, it's probably better to spring for an OEM boot. Otherwise, the MTC boot will probably suit your needs.
